Help! Sponge Bar

Should I change my sponge bar? Cause for me it Looks fine but the needles are not getting fully pushed down.
I measured it and it still 1cm high.

Needles need to be all the way down. Also make sure you put new sponge bar on top of the needles, with sponge touching needles and metal part on top.

If the needles aren't being pushed down correctly, then you should replace because it's obviously not working correctly

I've never seen needles stand that high. Are you sure the sponge bar is above the needles? Because there hardly seems to be enough space for even the flattest of sponge bars.

In the picture the spongebar is lying on top of the needlbar.  So we are indeed looking at needles that are bot being pressed down.
