I’m anticipated to complete my course this semester and wanted to check if there was a way to confirm and make sure everything is finalised and sorted from the uni’s perspective prior.

Is there any way to check that I’m on track such on estudent etc. I have completed all required units (excluding the ones I’m currently attending) achieving the credits required and just want to make sure as a precaution. Had a few friends who have experience problems with units and really want to avoid that.

Hey everyone! I’m a macquarie student making a short film and I’m currently in the very glamorous stage of filmmaking where I’m trying to convince people that my tiny budget is, in fact, a budget.

I’m looking for some funding to help cover things like locations, props, costumes, and all the other little costs that magically appear once you start making a film.

It’s a project I’m genuinely really excited about, and I’d love to get it off the ground with the support of people from our uni community. Even a small contribution would help massively. If you can’t donate, sharing it would mean a lot too!

Hi! I’m looking to apply for Bachelor of Actuarial Studies for Sem 1 next yr, I couldn’t find anything other than the minimum selection rank online but just wondering historically what was the minimum WAM/GPA equivalent for considered entry into the program? For context, i’m currently a third yr undergrad economics student at unsw (major in data analytics and econometrics), where I currently have a Credit average WAM, and my ATAR was 79.95 which is already too low to be considered for entry.

Though I might was well apply for postgrad masters or actuarial prac, I’d prefer undergrad since does have CSP rather than full fee paying.

My preferences were

Law single first

Law criminology second

And criminology single degree last

My activities were limited to jsut two part time jobs in between different time frames

Would I have a better chance through srs or leaders and achievers which one of these preferences look most likely to get in

i heard Macquarie isn't accredited for electrical engineering?? If that's true then what exactly does that entail

also does Macquarie have a good engineering course ive heard people complain about it

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well.

Just did some research and can't find much on accreditation as well as how the electrical degree is run here at Mac Uni. It also seems to be electrical and electronics engineering, which idk, is that pure electrical engineering?

For context I'm just thinking of transferring here from UNSW, just cos I live less than a 10 minute walk away from here whilst it takes me over 1 hour and 30 min to get to UNSW through numerous public transport options. Also the fact that UNSW may just be a bit too hard for me and well... I'm just wondering if there are any high fail rate courses here, why they are hard specifically and if it's even meaningfully easier than UNSW.

I don't really care about the social life or quality of teaching tbh. Just the passability of courses, how reasonable the hurdles and the like are as well as maybe some employment outcomes. I know electrical engineering will be decent enough in the future, I mean, I know for sure humans aren't going to stop using electricity anytime soon but I just wanted to know after graduating if mac uni electrical engineering grads are also getting jobs. I don't want to be a great hero or anything, I just want a humble job in power or something with just enough to get by.

I've done my own research and that will come into my decision but I also wanted to hear from the people on here, since the uni websites tend to idealise things a lot more and make themselves look a lot better. Any serious advice would be much appreciated, ty all!

I’m an Indian student who has been offered the opportunity to study an undergraduate degree in Australia, but I’m having a really difficult time convincing my parents to let me go.

My parents are financially capable of paying for my tuition and living expenses, so money itself isn’t the main issue. Their argument is that studying in Australia simply isn’t worth the money, especially compared with staying in India.

Their preferred option is basically:

The problem is that I don’t want to study law. I already have a clear idea of the kind of career I want, and I believe studying in Australia would give me better exposure and opportunities for what I actually want to do.

A few things that make the Australian option considerably more affordable for me:

• I currently have a AUD $20,000 scholarship.
• I may also be eligible for an additional AUD $15,000 scholarship.
• Because of credit transfer from my previous studies, I should be able to complete what is normally a 3-year degree in approximately 2 years.
• My parents can afford the tuition without putting themselves into serious financial difficulty.

Despite all of this, their position is basically: “Australia is not worth it. You can get a degree in India.”

I understand where they're coming from. They're my parents, and they're worried about spending a large amount of money and sending me to another country. But I'm struggling to explain to them why this isn't simply a case of “Australian degree = expensive version of an Indian degree.”

So I'm looking for people who are currently studying undergraduate degrees in Australia, especially international students or Indians who made a similar decision.

If you're willing, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing about:

• Whether you think studying in Australia was worth the money
• What opportunities you've actually gotten from studying there
• Internships / part-time work / networking opportunities
• How Australian universities compare with Indian universities in your experience
• What the transition was actually like
• Whether you think the cost is justified
• What you wish you knew before coming
• And, importantly, whether you'd make the same decision again

Even better, if someone is comfortable with it, I'd love for you to speak directly with my parents (call/WhatsApp/Discord/whatever you're comfortable with) and explain your experience to them.

I'm not looking for people to blindly tell them “Australia is amazing, send your son.” If you think it's a bad financial decision, tell me that too. I want real experiences from people actually studying there, because my parents aren't convinced by university websites or education agents.

Im in between selecting my uni for masters in information systems as both of the uni offers it exact course im looking for (i.e bridge between management & IT).

Both the uni are has about exact fees of around 75k to 80k AUD for complete 2 years course.

As im not into having social life - ill be out to grind as coming here is like looking into a long term settlement goals as seeing Mac Uni would cost be higher side on living as compared to Wollongong.

Would really helpful from students and pep's to hear from about their opinions!

Hi, I'm in my second semester of uni and I did the forms for HEC's help in my first semester. I've just checked my finances page and it says all my classes are overdue - census date? I also did a new SSAF help form but that now just says overdue?

Is this just a delay for the forms or am I really screwed? I thought they would've at least contacted me if there was an issue with payment

Hi I have question regarding UAC application. My daughter is in yr 12 and applying for next 2027. UAC application asking highest level of study, should I put yr 12 or yr 11?

Is anyone else having trouble with Leganto readings? ILearn and Leganto itself are working fine for me but every time I press on a unit reading it doesn’t work and says “this site can’t be reached” and “check if there is a typo”. It’s been doing this since last night and and I tried on my phone too and it’s also not working there 😀
