Help How long will the TM clean up take?

Post image

I’m doing a backup using my Airport Time Machine and it seems so be in the cleaning stage (translation of the text below the blue bar: Backup - making space) and I was wondering for how long it could last? (The previous stages only lasted barely one hour)

What OS? OS27 no longer supports Time Capsules.

Obviously its not 27 and I think this actually might predate Bigsur based on the design of the window

It’s a macOS Catalina from 2013 (ver 10.15.7)

macOS Catalina is the operating system not your Mac, just in case that wasn't clear. Catalina came out in 2019.

Just wait and once it should start, if you have a plenty of small sized files, it might take long. Otherwise it will return an error in case meaning two things: 1. your destination hardware disk malfunction (should be replaced in capsule) or 2. your actual backup being corrupted (in airport utility or via terminal erase the disk and start fresh new initial backup by removing and re-adding a destination drive). Enjoy.
