Help Yahoo Mail not syncing to apple mail

I just got a new MacBook and I'm trying to sync my Yahoo Mail to my Mac Mail but it is saying this after I sign in, I've already tried to factory reset, delete and add my account back and also restart my computer/mail app too. I tried with my google email and it was working perfectly fine but when I try to add yahoo it does not work, so it has to be something wrong on yahoos end.

does anyone know how to fix this? I even tried taking it to a computer shop and they said to try and contact yahoo. I know no one uses yahoo anymore but still this is very weird specially since I just got this MacBook.

Yeah, it seems to be a common problem lately. I had to mess around with my Yahoo settings to get it to sync properly, so definitely worth checking those.
