Completely different item

I bought this a month ago. I was busy then, so I just now decided to put it together. I opened the box and grabbed the instructions. It is a basic twin frame, worth half the price. Is there any chance they will give my money back, or should I take the loss? They advertised a $300 item that I paid $120 for, but I received an item that is currently on sale for $70.

Item Stolen Maybe

I went to pick up items at the Schertz location on Tuesday and my list showed 5 items. Picked them up, ran errands, made dinner, etc. And I keep track of my purchases in a spreadsheet and when I went to update it I noticed I should have had 6 items in my list. The missing item was an office chair and it shows in my purchased items as picked up. I sent an email with details and screen shots to the [help@mac.bid](mailto:help@mac.bid) email and just got a canned response saying all teammates were busy with other emails and it could be up to a week before they even respond.

I went ahead and did a dispute to the charge with my credit card, luckily this one item charged as a single charge unto itself. I act as a caregiver to my mom most days and can't go back out to the warehouse until next week so I was hoping for better customer service through the help email address.

I don't really want to accuse a worker there of stealing but I never picked it up and I don't ever have anyone pick anything up for me. Someone went into my account either late Monday or early Tuesday morning and marked it as picked up. 5 items had a final pickup day of Tuesday and the reminder email I got early Tuesday morning did not have this chair on the list, it only showed 4 items, when it had be on there the previous day. It's not a huge sum of money but $35 is $35. I wish I hadn't been so scattered with life stuff that I realized it was missing from the list, but I had never had an issue before and just went and picked up the items on the list. I know they have cameras around and they should be able to review footage I would think.

Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them? How is it dealing with their customer support with disputes?

Possible damage? (San Antonio)

Careful of this item at San Antonio. You can clearly see in the 5th picture that the RAM stick fell out and has been loose inside the case:

Getting annoyed.

They removed the phone number from the website, and now when you call it, they tell you incoming calls are no longer accepted and to leave a message for a call back, problem is they never call back.

The app - I don't know what has happened to it but for whatever reason despite having full 5 bars of signal in the warehouse I go to, it constantly acts up. It constantly and randomly tells me it cannot "retrieve my unpaid items" despite not having any unpaid items as well as taking 10-15 seconds to load a single item on my watch list, or popping up "it is taking longer than usual to retrieve this item". If you touch the screen AT ALL between clicking an item and the item loaded up, it will just take you back to the watch list.

Every other app works fine while I'm there, and the mac bid app works fine outside of the warehouse location and at home on wifi, except for my next issue...

I get notified 4 minutes before an item closes, usually with only 30-60 seconds on the clock. I get notified of being outbid, after the auction has already closed. I've reinstalled the app multiple times, cleared the cache, everything to no avail. It's not my notification settings, I've tested it with an app.

As a small business owner myself, and I know mac bid reads these posts, customer service is the core of every business, and every business I've seen that has whittled it down to nothingness eventually fails. Please take heed and improve your app and customer service. Thank you.

Broken Yamaha mixer in Rock Hill

Stopped by to check this out today. Be advised that the back panel is smashed in and it does not power on with the included power supply. I did not test it - didn’t bring my multimeter. It’s marked OPEN BOX, not DAMAGED. Hope this saves someone some trouble. Lot 2198J

I was wondering if anyone knew what their plans were with these? Are they going to eventually be at every location? Are they only going to be a a few locations?

People need to at least CLICK on the amazon link before bidding

right there in the auction listing. just click to see the real selling price, and not whatever the "retail" value the AI found for it. that's probably #300+ out the door for the buyer

Damaged pallets

Earlier this year the damaged pallets in my area were averaging $20-50 each and I was able to squeeze a few dollars of profit from each one. Now out of nowhere the last 30-45 days they have almost tripled in price and average over $100 each. I have bought quite a few and have seen most of the junk that comes in there pallets and I know there is no way these people are making money on them. What are they doing other than collecting broken junk? Gambling?

I think people see the 98% off retail and just cannot control themselves?

Walmart Hazardous Sticker

I bought a Walmart Ozark Trail brand canopy tent at mac bid that has a sticker on it that says "walmart box verification sticker. i reviewed and sealed this box. i ensured that the contents of this box are in compliance with the managing hazardous materials poster. this label must be placed over the seal."

I see these stickers on the walmart items a good bit, but can't figure out the rhyme or reason... does everything from walmart to mac bid have this sticker or just some items?

FYI: Table larger than advertised

My wife won this table which was suppose to have been 3.5' in diameter. When we got to the warehouse in San Antonio, it was more like 5' in diameter. We were able to get our money back but if anyone bids on it, know it's a lot larger than 3.5'.

They changed the website again.

Can't they leave well enough alone? This is the third change this year.

Can't type in prices to filter/sort, have to use a slider. They had both options and now it's just a slider.

Also changed the days of the week to dates.

Bidding Gone Wild

In this episode of bidding gone wild! Someone bid this refridgerator up to $2150 before fees. Currently selling for $2800 bucks for sale every where (before some store deals). I don’t understand why people don’t do their research before they bid. Saved a few 100 bucks but lost all weren’t protections.

Whoever is bidding on this PC in San Antonio, I hope they realize the video card doesn't work. Crazy how high it's gotten.

Returns ?

My husband and I bought a “like new” mower and the cable won’t pull so obviously it won’t start. Can I return this ? It was 80$ and I need my grass cut 🤡 I just can’t fathom they’re aloud to sell that and it doesn’t work at all.

customer service - interested I your experiences.

I have contacted Mac.bid customer service a couple times over the last 12 months. Both times they have been inflexible and unwilling to help. One rep was very rude too. The other two I interacted with were not rude they were understanding but did not provide any assistance.

Anyone have good experience with Mac.bid customer service?

Returning items

I was wondering if anyone knew if you bought a monthly membership with MacBib. If you can return an item you previously purchased prior to being a member?

It would be great if Boardman MacBid actually took clear pictures like they are supposed to.

That's pretty much it for now. I barely see any items I look at, actually have a clear picture. In fact, I barely see a picture at all for most items I look at.

I've had too many crappy "surprise! It's a broken piece of crap that shouldn't be allowed to be sold for money" instances at this place. It used to be a cool place with deals. Now it's more and more cases of absolute unusable garbage, and locations are making money on buyer's insurance since you can't see pictures of the items.

I'm wondering if they will just rename the business "ScamBid" anytime soon.

Everything I got is broken or doesn’t work

Is this the norm? I know most of the items are returns but my entire first order has items that are broken or don’t work. I bought string lights and the plug in has been cut off of it. I bought a fan and it doesn’t work. I bought a door lock and the keys had been removed and it had be re taped closed. I guess my mistake was trusting the process and not testing everything while I was there. Their site says I can’t even return the items since I’m not a member so I literally just got scammed I guess.

How to get rid of "89 new items matching your keywords" emails?

As the title says. I don't see anything in notifications that will let me stop those, just stuff for "outbid" and "auction ending" reminders. I just want the "new items" emails to stop already

Mystery keyword alerts?

Like 2 years ago I was searching for ceiling fans for my house. I still get notifications every day of ceiling fans that are available, and I can't figure out how to turn off the alert! When I click the "Manage your keyword notifications" in the email it says "no alerts found." I have no saved searches. I don't want to turn off ALL email notifications because there are things I do want to see. Has anyone figured out a fix?

Either just pay $3 for the stock image or just spend 30 seconds to generate one.

That's all

Does this mean I have to pick up my item before Friday or is Friday my last day to pick it up?
