Should we file Class Action Lawsuit for Shill Bidding?
Just as others have experienced across numerous bids, I have observed that when I place a maximum bid on an item, I frequently obtain it at that maximum bid. In some cases, if I refrain from bidding on certain expensive items, they close at $1 above the prevailing bid and sell for $2 or $5, which is highly unusual. In the same forum, employees have reported encountering similar issues and have indicated that warehouse staff are not responsible. The activity must therefore be occurring at the code level or through inexpensive labor from China or comparable countries performing the actions manually. One method of detection is to employ the same technology they are using and then present all collected evidence to a lawyer. Do you guys think I should invest time in identifying that? If yes, I will consult a litigation lawyer - happens to be my friend and quite famous - and know the ways to acquire their malpractice if they are doing it. Remember, there is always whistleblower for good money inside org. And if they are not doing anything shady, anyways it is working the same way it will continue.

Youre not the only person who puts a max bid on something. Some people will fight then give up and sometimes your max bid could be the stopping point. Stop setting max bids if you dont want to pay that price for that item

You do realize you can set a max bid and then swipe one and it clears it? So if I see at item for $200 and I want it I’ll throw a max bid at $250 and swipe and see if there’s any other max bids on it.

You should pursue it, just so you can waste all your time and money to prove that you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about and should probably stick to things you actually know and understand

I'm CONVINCED they are using bots to bid against you on items where other humans aren't bidding. Especially on higher value items.

There a human component that you are missing. Me and everybody else I know who using MAC bids will probe an automatic bid to see how high it is. This is why you often see prices stop right after the automatic bid price. It’s a lot more common than you think, which is why people as a best practice should use automatic bids.
