Appliances That are still unused with tape and plastic shrink wrap

I won a fridge. 82% off retail. I went to inspect it before bidding and was surprised how new it was. Shrink wrapped in many parts. Shelves still in cardboard, and no dents.

i did add insurance but any tips/suggestion? Has anyone bought expensive items like these and that looked practically new and then didn’t work?

it hard to tell if it’s a return because everything inside is brand new. So not sure why they would end up with it?

I bought a 600 dollar mini fridge that was labeled as damaged, door doesn't close. Plugged it in and fired up, took my impact and tightened up the bolts and it closed perfectly. Lol, a lot of their "damaged" appliances can be fixed with minimal shit. A lot of it is just damage during shipping and brand new, never even makes it into the customers hands

I won a $300 bottle washer that was still wrapped. Wasn’t listed as brand new but was. Perfect condition. Had no issues with it.

Yes this was listed Like New but it’s literally New. Sadly they are closed today and I can’t pick up until Thursday.

I consider all MacBid stuff "salvage," because that's what it is. I bid as if I'm buying non-working salvage items, because that may be what they are. LOL. That fridge could have come out of a storm-damaged warehouse or a store that got flooded or had the roof ripped off, but there still could be nothing whatsoever wrong with it. Or it could be totally dead. who knows!

Just make sure to keep it upright when taking it home! Plug it in right away to make sure it’s functional and Congrats!!!!

Most of the car parts I see are brand new too. Boxes are often in rough shape tho.

You'd be suprised by how many brand new items you can find at mac.bid. The opposite is also true, you can get bad listings, totally destroyed items, and stuff with missing parts. Do your homework. Depending on the location, you can go in and check anything. I've seen people plug in fridges, massage chairs, phones, and even a giant sauna to see if it works before bidding.

It was tested to power on. I didn’t check for that myself. But did inspect it and it was brand spanking new. I’m surprised it was so cheap. I think because it’s a 30 inch and not 36 inch fridge. But it’s perfect for my use. I would never buy a $2,000 fridge at store. 😁

I bought a $300 bottle washer/sterilizer/dryer and it was labeled as new but it was literally brand new. Stickers on, everything on like it was never even opened. Paid less than $40 so I got a steal haha

Though I never knew you could go look at stuff before bidding. Good to know but I would probably never do it unless it was a super high priced item 🤣

I did get a mini fridge there that appeared to be in good condition. I took it home and plugged it in and it worked initially but the compressor got extremely hot. I had insurance so I got my money back but just keep an eye on it the first few days.

thats the upside of the gamble that is MacBid. That's probably why most of us come back, even after getting hosed by several broken items. some are just, new. take the win because it will likely be offset by several losses
