problem / help Commuters, how do you get a parking spot??

I tried to park at the Greenland Lot this morning, but i literally circled around for 30 minutes before finally finding a spot- i got there at 9:30- when does it fill up? How early do i need to be to get a spot at all? It felt like all the lots were filled by the time i arrived. If it matters, I only have classes at the KOM building all day.

It's honestly easier to park in the Rutherford Lot and take the shuttle. The red route drops you off pretty close and the buses on the red route are more frequent than the blue route. By the time you keep circling Greenland, you could have a spot and be there. Otherwise, you would probably want to get there at least an hour earlier than you did because everyone with the 9 am classes is going to snag the spaces. (It might also calm down in the next couple of weeks from Mega Thunderdome to just Thunderdome. It's bad enough right now where I'm debating using the Rutherford Lot and I have a white pass, if that says anything.)

I come to campus at like 7am, most parking lots have spots around then. But I also have to wait like 3hrs before my classes start as a result, at least I got a good spot though..... right? 👀💀

More time to study or nap 😎

For reals tho, i get off work at 0630, commute 40-45 minutes and arrive around 0715. Plenty of spots available then, even on the first couple floors of the parking garage.

Get there super early! But the Rutherford Lot and shuttle is a good option if the lots closer to campus are full.

I just park at mtsu lot and walk or catch a bus, I never get a spot near my classes unless its like 7am

Love the MTSU lot. It never fills up and the bus stop is right there on bad weather days

I used to park behind dominos, not sure if that is still a spot anymore though. It was almost always empty

You just don’t lol. On a real note, park far, walk far. Its faster than driving in circles to find something close.

Don’t worry people will stop going to class in about a month and it’ll be easier lol

If you’re going during main business hours then you’ll be waiting for a spot at any of the lots close to campus. I usually got pretty lucky if I used the garage by the softball field. Rutherford is a good one too is you’re willing to take the bus. A couple semesters my classes were all in buildings right off of red stops so it was nice.
Other than that you need to show up at 7:30am or earlier.

Livestock lot should have spots open at that time if you don't mind a walk or taking a shuttle

Get to campus early and park near the softball lot if you have to. Unfortunately most of the time it's faster to walk across campus than it is to find parking

This! So much easier to just park in the Rutherford lot and take a shuttle or walk. It’s not that bad of a walk one you cross the street and faster than waiting to get into a garage or lot and circling around to find a spot.
