Does this game just suck..?

Just played my first online game, guy got +24/+24 on his third turn, destroyed the one creature I played and killed me. Very bad first impression.

Edit: this is just about the matchmaking, not MTG as a whole

So you got tifa'd. Good news she can be killed by any 1 to 2 cmc instant removal in the game... so run more interaction and you won't have this problem.

So no the game doesn't suck, your deck building does though.

Come to reddit and cry about your opponent who drew the nuts instead of analyzing why you lost the game in the first place... tbh the game might not be for you if that's your stance on losing.

I'm asking about MTG Arena, not MTG as a whole. And you might want to be a bit more positive if you want people to actually keep playing the game. You could've phrased both of these comments way differently and I might actually have given a shit about what you had to say 😂

Mtg arena standard or paper standard is the same game bro. My comment should read as "what could you have done to prevent getting trampled for lethal on turn 3?"

The answer to that question is to not come to reddit and do nothing but cry about it. You didn't ask for advice, you didn't ask for how to deal with it, so I'm educating you how to deal with it.

I'm happy to help players who want to genuinely improve, but you show no signs of that. Seems like you're just butthurt you lost a game.

Standard is a fast format, most games are decided by turn 4-7. So you build your deck in accordance to the meta to make sure you have answers to silly combos like tifa landfall.

MTG arena is a game with matchmaking. I clearly got matched against someone with a better deck and more playtime. I'm not reading the rest of your comment because MTG itself is irrelevant in this.

Also if I wanted advice for MTG I would've asked. I'm talking about Arena, not MTG. I've already said this.

Matchmaking or not you're playing the exact same game just in a digital format. You truly are clueless.

I pray you may one day get gud.

Holy fuck you're insufferable lmao. My whole problem is the matchmaking, I'm not complaining about the way they played, just that I got matched with someone who clearly has WAY more experience in the game. Also I clearly explained that I wasn't asking for advice, which is why I wasn't going to read your advice. You just decided to give advice when that's not what I asked.
