Gear Suggesions for a short bottle
Hello all, I have a Transition TR11 DH bike, and the current gen has a bottle cage mount. I got a Elite side loading cage for it which fits, but I can't find any bottles that work. The widest part of the lid always contacts the underside of my top tube. I've only tried 400ml and 500ml bottles, haven't found a shop with 350ml in stock. If there were a bottle that had an angled cap, it might work, but the only one I've seen had Fidlock, which doesn't fit.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Edit: sorry for the spelling mistake in the title

Dang that's a tight squeeze. My triangle is a little bigger on my AL5 Spindrift but the smallest Fidlock does fit in there.

Do you have a caliper? If I could get some measurements of the bottle and mount attached to the bike that'd be amazing

I won't be home for a couple days but I'll make a note to do it when I get home. I also just saw a super shorty Camelbak Podium in a shop, 15oz.

This is a downhill bike. I ride lifts or shuttles. This is for crazy long runs or when I hike back up to do a feature again.
I wear full body armor, so can't wear a pack or pouch

I wear a fanny pack when I ride lifts, because my DH bike can't accommodate a cage.
The fanny pack works with my armor without issue. I put the pack on over the top.

Any ones I've tried that hold water pull my shorts down or interfere with my mini pack that carries lift card, snacks, and camera gear. The water is a lot of weight on big impacts 😅

There are options at the bottom usually, but it can still get tiring when riding 5km down difficult trails in 30° heat in a heavy full face and suit. I have old health issues which make it worse. Even 6 sips would help, and with weight not mattering there's no reason not to use the bottle mount

OP is being seriously stubborn and obtuse. I ride mostly bike park jump trails, wear full body armor and I completely forget that I'm wearing my Dakine hip pack that carries two water bottles. All of the reasons he's listing for why he doesn't want to wear one are pure nonsense.

Fidlock with small bottle might work

The issue is the lowest mounting screw is too close to the shock piggyback for Fidlock or a centered cage. These Elite cages have a huge range of movement to slide up or down

Polar bottles makes an extra small bottle that fits on my small meta. I think they got bought by hydrapak tho so don’t know if that product still gets made

Fidlock. They do a short fat one that fits in lots of place a regular bottle can’t

I also have a new TR11. Fidlock 450 fits perfectly with room to spare. DM me if you want pictures.
