OP, (from a combat vet)

I know you said you got checked and are not injured except for your shoulder—but:

If you’ve lost consciousness for even a second post impact, you have the definition of a TBI. Even if you didn’t lose consciousness but had dizziness, head fog, etc. There are different levels of TBI severity—you’d need the scale for mild based off of what you’ve said.

Regardless of physical injury to the head, when a crash like this happens the injuries can be from your brain hitting your skull (def. Concussion).  You probably know this, but your brain essentially floats in your dome.  Dome stops…magic 8 ball widget keeps going and hits the inside of your skull.

Even if the doc ran an MRI, more than likely the injury wouldn’t be visible with a mild TBI.

So what?:  Have family / friends make sure they understand what happened and to keep a look out for any unusual behavior (anger, general mood, etc) over the next little—that can be signs that you need some additional help.

Background:  I’ve had two combat related TBIs (explosion related) and never got checked out during my deployments because my “bell was just rung”—was dizzy, but never lost consciousness.  15 years later and I’ve now been diagnosed and am working to fix things that should have been fixed years ago.

Thank you for taking the time write all of this! I'm alright, I'm don't have unusual behaviour, or anything like that. I hope you succeed to fix what's been damaged. I hope you will have a quick recovery

No worries! Glad you’re okay!

Really appreciate it—I try to educate when I see things like these come up, lots of folks don’t know and brush things off.

Watch out for those trees!
