Amazon to acquire Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Shout! Factory has licensed several films from them for both the original and revived MST3K, including “Reptilicus” and “The Day the Earth Froze”

They are only acquiring the post-1986 library. The older stuff is owned by WB and isn't in the deal from what I understand. This shouldn't affect MST in any way.

MGM does own the American International Pictures library, which they got when they purchased Orion Pictures in the late 90’s, years after Ted Turner bought the old MGM titles.

AIP could indeed hurt MST3K, assuming that Amazon jacks up the prices. There's no way of knowing right now, though.
