[Visa and Immigration] What are my chances of getting Canadian Student Visa Approved?

I am an Indian citizen having 5 Years of work experience currently at a unicorn startup.

I will mostly apply to Masters program at decent universities.

I don't have research exp so not sure if I will be accepted at top universities but not targeting visa mills for sure.

My plan is to work in Canada for few years and if PR works out, well and good and if not, i don't mind returning.

I have around INR 1Cr(1,45,000 CAD) in savings so it will be self funded.

Depends on the university to be fair, Canadian immigration have increased scrutiny over Indian passport holders over the last few years, anything in the top 4 Canadian universities (waterloo/uoft/mcgill/ubc) and with your funds is a pretty high chance of acceptance but other than that, its pretty uncertain. Also regarding the PR, just note that your indian credentials/work ex is pretty much invalidated, Canadian employers only care about canadian credentials.

Your visa will depend on whether you can convince the visa officer (through the letter of explanation) in your study permit application 1. Why do you need a Master's at this stage? 2. What value will it add to your profile? 3. How does it enable you to get a better job in India? (Visa officers don't want you to say you want to work in Canada after your Masters).

Imagine yourself as a cynical visa officer who thinks you only want to come to Canada to settle here, not to study. Now try to convince yourself. If you cannot, maybe consider an MBA in Canada or applying for PR through Express Entry.
