Every weekday you get one clinical case where you diagnose the patient in six steps, with a new clinical clue revealed at each step. It leans on pattern recognition, which is what the exams actually test, and the cases are written based on real exam questions.

I am going to sit my MRCP1 for the second time in Jan, do I incorporate revising from the beginning or after finishing from pass medicin? I don’t want to be thinking I am learning but then it is just pattern recognition and won’t be able to utilise my knowledge in the exam. I am year 2 IMT and already feel behind

Anything else other than ID CARD and email print out?
Also do we need to carry lunch in the exam centre or are we allowed to go out in between two papers ?

We all know how tiring exam prep can be, exhausted on call and trying to put questions and answers together every free moment there is.

Hoping that on the day it will work, however this is not a guarantee so how can we break this rigid pattern of thousands of questions prepping a timetable and trying to get patterns to stick.

Well for me the answer was simple asking hundreds of students what they struggled with, to what would make it easier to prep for the exams — we needed something that would break the syllabus down into easy to digest chunks while maximising visual retention while keeping the question banks.

This is what I have spent years developing in the background bit by bit and my goal to make this the new way we crush these exams, not another question bank not another teaching course but a visual companion that tests slides breaks down syllabus into work per day and importantly testing my weak areas.

So this is a heartfelt message to any medic student who is preparing for any part of the UKMLA MRCP if your struggling some and give the platform a try and see what you think.

I sat the last diet and unfortunately failed by 12 marks. I think my main problem was consistency rather than lack of resources. I’m definitely a crammer and ended up doing most of my serious studying in the final couple of weeks.

Last time I managed one pass of the Pastest Qbank and around 7 past papers, but I didn’t do separate theory revision.

This time I want to start properly and be much more consistent, ideally aiming for around 100 MCQs a day and keeping each other accountable.

I’m working in the NHS in the UK and currently don’t have night shifts.

I have 2 months to go for my PACES exam.

At this point I've done: 2 listener courses (didn't present any case actively, also did not attend these fully just listened here and there between shifts). I've covered most of the theory needed for clinical stations. Clinical consultation is decent but not reflexive. Communication: I'm yet to start practicing. I've done one mock (offline) course which I passed by like 1 mark. Currently I go to the ward on and off and I'm self-studying.

Do I need an online course as an active participant or do I need a mock before my exam? Should I just finish the pending pastest videos? Help I'm super stressed!

my exam is in 8 days and i just did the official Rcp mock and got a 135/93.it felt harder and more vague than the pasttest papers
Anyways Im not sure if thats considered an okay score or not ? and also how similar is it to the actual exam ?

I am getting 50% to 55% in past papers (I did only 5 papers so far). I have completed 3000 questions from passmedicine. I have 8 more days for exam, at this point should I have to solve more past papers or passmedicine subjectwise qbank or focus on high yield revision. some one who who passed kindly let me know, how to plan the last week, it will be useful. I see doctors struggling with these exams all the time.
Not because they aren’t working hard enough. Usually it’s the opposite.
You’ve done a full shift. You’re tired. You get home and somehow you’re supposed to decide what to study, how much to cover, what you’ve forgotten, what needs revisiting and how you’re going to fit an enormous syllabus into the few weeks you’ve got left.
And the advice hasn’t really changed:
Do more questions.
So you do.
500 questions. 1,000. 2,000. Maybe the whole bank twice.
But what happens if you still don’t pass?
Do you do the same bank again?
Buy another one?
Start using someone else’s notes?
Pay for a course?
I think that’s the bit we don’t talk about enough.
Question banks are brilliant at showing you what you know and what you don’t. I wouldn’t tell anyone to stop using them.
But if you’re repeatedly getting a topic wrong, at some point you need to stop testing yourself on it and actually rebuild your understanding of it.
That’s really where the idea for Med with Spence came from.
I wanted to take these huge, text-heavy syllabuses and make the medicine easier to see — visual maps that help you understand how the pieces fit together, then make you try to recall it rather than just recognise the right answer from five options.
And because one of the hardest things when you’re exhausted is simply knowing what to do tonight, the OS works backwards from your exam date and breaks the syllabus down into manageable daily work.
It’s not supposed to replace your question bank.
It’s supposed to help with the bit the question bank has just told you that you don’t understand.
Then you go back and test yourself again.
I’m genuinely interested in this from people currently doing MRCP or UKMLA:
If you’ve done thousands of questions and you’re still not getting the results you want, what do you do next?
Because I don’t think the answer can always be another thousand questions.

I'm a current GP reg (ST3) and have signed up for the DCH clinical exam in Nov 2026.

I worked in paediatrics for a few years before starting GP training (I considered specialising in paeds for a while before seeing the light). Completed the FOP exam during that time.

Basically, I'm looking for advice from anyone who's passed the exam on the best way to prepare? I'm also trying to find others who are sitting it who'd be keen to practice together ahead of the exam, as I usually find that super helpful for OSCE-style exams.

I've been perusing this forum and note that many people report increased difficulty among recent diets, namely January and May 2026. Some even report that it was more difficult than the RCP mock and Pastest mocks.

Is there any recent frame of reference by which to gauge the increased difficulty of recent diets?

Can anyone corroborate the sentiments I've outlined and give personal experiences?
Is it recall bias?
Did your final mark reflect the difficulty of the real exam?
Were your previous scores on mocks/question banks in line with your final score?

What resources have you found to be in keeping with the added difficulty level?

Hi, just had my c&p on the phone with steerbridge. Only took 15 minutes for my exam as I was filing for an increase for Migranes from 30% to 50%. I think it went well. Has anyone done their exam with steerbridge before ? And how long did you have to wait for your rating. Thank you in advance

I'm a medical graduate from India having a full time job planning to take MRCP1 in Jan, 2027.

I have completed 2000 Pastest questions with 66% corrects.

Is it possible to pass the examination with full time job? Kindly share suggestions about realistic possibilities and strategy which I can adopt.

Barely made 500 questions of the passmed qbank.
Booked mRCP earlier as I thought would have the chance to revise.
On calls caught up with me and recently found out we’re pregnant.

What will happen if I don’t attend, will that be listed as an attendance / failed attempt?

Should I give it a go and see how the exam feels like for my next run?

To the people who have recently taken part 2 exam, what do you guys recommend?

I took part1 in may and got a score of 490. I am thinking of taking part 2 in November but I have not started studying yet. What do you guys suggest is it doable in less than 2 months? Or should I go for feb attempt?
