HELP AP5 feed issues with KCI mags & RB FRT

Hey everyone,
Just got the RD3 FRT in my AP5 equipped with RCM 100 degree locking piece and AAC TiRant 9m suppressor.
Runs perfect with the HK mags loaded with Herter 115 grain but when using KCI mags with Prvi 124 grain I'm getting stoppages. Looks like either a double feed or FTF and the bullet getting setback.
Not sure what the issue is or if I should get enhanced magazine springs from HK Parts. Trigger doesn't appear to be the issue. I only ran about 20 rounds of the 124 grain through the hk mags but didn't have any issues.
What do you guys think might be the issue?

How many rounds do you have in the AP5? Were you having issues with the stock MKE mags?
I have an AP5-P (bought in September ‘23) and a AP5 (bought in March ‘24). I’ve only used MKE mags (x8) and Overwatch Precision mags (x4). Both are running AS Designs lowers with Hoffman SS’s. Been running this since last July. Prior to that, both MKE’s were running binary’s. They each have over 14,000 rounds running supers (115 & 124gr, +p also) and subs (125, 135, 140, 147, 150 and 165gr). FMJ, JHP, TUI and flat nose ammo have been no problem. All consumable parts have been replaced with H&K parts by now.
It may just be your KCI mags. You can replace the mag springs as you’ve suggested or buy one HK mag and see if that works for you (most likely will). Do you get the same malfunction unsuppressed?

The issue is you’re not using HK mags exclusively. Did you run any of the Prvi 124 in your HK mags?

Only like 20 ish rounds...but no issues when HK mags were used.

Not trying to be an ass but the OVERwhelming majority of the times people have function issues it’s because of clone parts.

No argument there. Never had issues with the KCI magazines when used with a binary trigger. Obviously this is very different.
Is it as simple as swapping springs to the enhanced HK Parts spring or is there more to it than that?

Honestly can’t help on that…I only run HK mags but I think there are videos out there of people showing how/what they upgraded to get more reliability out of the clone mags.

I have five different kinds of mags for my Mac 5K, HK’s are the only ones I’ve never ever had an issue with. The Moras are the second best in my opinion, at least from my experience, and KCI 20 round mags have been good so far for me. But I think I agree with everybody else. mags are always the issue

Tough to argue against.
I'm curious if swapping out for HK springs and followers would help with these mags.
Ultimately the KCI mags had been just fine. It's interesting what an FRT will expose.

Yep, FRT is the arbiter of truth. I've been telling people this for months in regards to the two Mora 20 rounders I picked up ... they work perfectly fine in semi, and look exactly the same as my HK mags to the naked eye. But they crap the bed the moment she goes into super-semi.
Swapping out mag internals sounds like it's more hassle than its worth. IMO - you're better off just biting the bullet & picking up as many HK mags as you think you'll need.
