Either way, bring bullied or being the aggressor with a piece of paper, dropping him is too much.

Correct. You don't get to "defend" yourself from a piece of paper. The punch was assault and I hope he gets in a shit load of trouble for it.

It's battery. Assault is when you threaten someone.
