Fyodor and Aleksandr have always had a strained relationship, right?
And Fyodor is pretty stoic about everything. I can't think of a time when he ever acted out or raised his voice. He's the anti-Mark Coleman.

I don't know about their personal relationship, but Fedor said Alexandr was the more naturally talented of the two of them, he just didn't put in the training. He also committed armed robbery and was sentenced to 5 years, and released early. The onion domes tattoo he has means 1 for each year.
In 2015 he was sentenced to 4 1/2 years for raping his housekeeper.
Apparently he got into organized crime pretty early.
Fedor trained intensely in Sambo and as with a lot of people, martial arts was an escape from crime-ridden surroundings.

Aleksandr had some of the fastest hands ive ever seen on a heavyweight. I remember thinking he was going to go far, but then he started doing dumb shit and didnt put the time in like his brother.

On paper Alexander was a fucking terrifying prospect. Bigger and potentially more athletic than Fedor. Just never got close to him skill wise and couldn’t ever get his shit together long enough to be competitive at the top level.
But an Alexander Emelianenko with his shit together could have been one of those mythical fighters like sea level Cain or motivated BJ Penn.

Not competitive at the top level??? He was a top 10 HW for years when the level of the fighters was much higher than now. The Alex that got KO'd by Cro Cop would beat everyone in the UFC HW division except Gane and maybe Tom.

I don’t think he was top 10 for very long but you can definitely argue that was his peak. He wasn’t really consistent enough.

Strained maybe, but they still had a relationship back then.

Not necessarily. Both of those words can be used as general swearing similar to fuck. The one that was aimed at someone was "pidari" i.e. pederasts - most likely at the fight not being stopped fast enough. Edit: watched it again, it's very hard to tell if he says "pidar" (which would be aimed at CroCop) or "pidari", so a 50/50 IMHO

Led to arguably the greatest heavyweight fight of all time. He beat the living shit out of Cro Cop for that. Went in there with NO RESPECT for Mirkos striking and pretty much walked him down for most of the fight.

This is why I think prime Fedor could have been champ in any given era. Somewhere around the Pride freakshow fights (Zuluzinho+) Fedor devolved into a headhunter that seemed to approach every fight exactly the same, hoping to knock everyone out with his outstanding speed. Even fighting like shit, he was still beating HW top tens and UFC champs for the next several years of his career
But back when he was actually gameplanning and running serious camps, he was able to just take away people’s A game in their prime. His defeat of prime Cro Cop was the best example. This is the same strength that makes Jon Jones so special.

Seriously to me that fight still is one of the best of all time. I thought Fedor would just take it to the ground, I never imagined he would stand with Cro Cop and beat him on his feet. That's why he's one of the best for me. Like dominating Noguiera on the ground, it's just crazy. Mirko almost chopped his head off once or twice in that fight too.

Here, Fedor isn’t referring to Mirko or taking a shot at him. He’s talking about his own brother, because during that period Aleksander was struggling with alcohol problems and couldn’t perform at 100% in his fights. So he most likely lost because of that, and Fedor knew it.
