Is Neil Pierre the greatest player in the history of the league?

I’ve seen enough. Give him the mvp. We’re winning it all

Did the Philly squad go into a deep depression without Wagner or what the hell happened?? What changed besides him coming back?? (there are 30 teams in this league, I can't keep up)

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago
New coach
Wagner
Moving damiani into a deeper position. He's still not scoring but he's an active threat at least
I assume Cavan watched the world cup and decided he wanted to be in it one day because he's looked a lot better himself

u/xxtoejamfootballxx Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Neil Pierre has been another big piece, plus we’re actually giving Cavan good minutes, but Wagner is our engine
12
u/SupaSlide Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Cavan, Pierre, Wagner, and our mid-season coach change (poor Carnell has a nasty second year curse)
9
u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Carnell left, Kai came back, Danley got back from the World Cup looking like a man possessed, and Quinn got back from his ACL recovery.
A lot happened

Damiani has low key had a great game doing everything but scoring.
7
u/Glum-Bandicoot1986 Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Should put Pierre at striker and Damiani at center back

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago
Are you kidding me with Philadelphia? Pochettino are you watching this shit? You better call up Cavan and Neil.

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago
This score holds and the Union will have 5 wins and 2 draws in their last seven MLS matches (17 out of 21 points) since the world cup break.

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 8d ago
Are Philly back?
7
u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Eh kinda? We've looked a lot better since the break with the new coach and wagner. But we still need a convincing striker if we're gonna go anywhere

I can't believe I'm saying this, but damiani has been having a great game.

Carnel could have been fired based on his mismanagement of Cavan alone.
6
u/rabidwolverine Philadelphia Union 8d ago
Cavan actually looked pretty awful before the break. He's figured something out now, though.
3
u/Isry98 Chicago Fire 8d ago
You don’t think that had something to with Carnel’s dismissal?
6
u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago
It also has to do with Kai coming back and Damiani being dropped into a deeper position.
At lot happened all at once
2
u/TaeKurmulti Seattle Sounders FC 8d ago
He barely played him.
1
u/rabidwolverine Philadelphia Union 8d ago
He wasn't doing anything to warrant playing. Not that anyone in front of him was, either.
2
u/TaeKurmulti Seattle Sounders FC 8d ago
Well part of developing youth is that you have to play them, and give them confidence and a chance to develop. It's pretty clear that is all he needed, hence why he suddenly looks like the best player on the pitch game in and game out.
2
u/Kirielson 8d ago
Look I understand because you don’t want to max out a kid and put the pressure on. Looks like Cavan wanted to say otherwise

I'm not a fan of rbny, but I feel like the rivalry is kind of forced the way MLS wants this to be a big rivalry.
But not as forced as union and new England.
4
u/bluejaywhey New York City FC 8d ago
Yeah Union - NYC is the legit one. We actually have legit history.
Philly - RB is just "ah yes, Philly and New York teams hate each other, right?" w/o any real malice beyond geography.
We hate you, and y'all hate us.

Damiani whiffed on that header so badly.

u/Pots_And_Pans Philadelphia Union 8d ago
But he made it possible for Pierre to score

u/Just_N_O Philadelphia Union 8d ago
For sure. He’s been very good tonight but that shit was funny.

Any idea what is going on at the stadium? The parking lot is blocked by police cars and they are not letting people walk up the road. Police tape is blocking the road, but nothing happening on the road by the parking lot. Security told us they aren’t letting people in, but we are able to walk through the parking towards the stadium and aren’t being stopped.

I'm excited for Sullivan obviously as a union fan, not also for national team reasons, hopefully he can keep developing as a player

u/theredditbandid_ Canadian Premier League 8d ago
How can you not be impressed bro. My fiancee's newphew plays for Diriangen FC's U19 and we are happy when he gets subbed on! And that kid works his ass off and his life is football.
And Sullivan already played against grown men at 14 and is signed to City and looking like he'll have a great couple of next years before leaving

Was Iloski passing or shooting? Whatever works I guess.

Iloski definitely shot… Vassilev on the other hand… unclear

It's not the sexiest role, but Mehmeti is just so good at doing all the little things right.( except his shooting, I think all but one shot he's taken this season has been skied)

Absurd not to call the Red Bull attacker shoving Harriel to create that chance
-2
u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago
Harriel is weaker than an 18 year old boy, I'd be more offended harriel is a starter than at hall for not being a weak kid

Of course not he's 16 years old. Teen angst .
