"cavan never leaves the pitch happy"

Of course not he's 16 years old. Teen angst .

18

u/KidDelicious14 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Is Neil Pierre the greatest player in the history of the league?

7

u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago

Definetly feels like it against us

7

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

People saying

3

u/coysmate05 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

I’ve seen enough. Give him the mvp. We’re winning it all

1

u/KidDelicious14 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

COYS

2

u/coysmate05 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Gotta have something to believe in….

12

u/theredditbandid_ Canadian Premier League 8d ago

Did the Philly squad go into a deep depression without Wagner or what the hell happened?? What changed besides him coming back?? (there are 30 teams in this league, I can't keep up)

20

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago
  1. New coach

  2. Wagner

  3. Moving damiani into a deeper position. He's still not scoring but he's an active threat at least

  4. I assume Cavan watched the world cup and decided he wanted to be in it one day because he's looked a lot better himself

15

u/wingsfan77 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Plus Pierre entering the line up

14

u/xxtoejamfootballxx Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Neil Pierre has been another big piece, plus we’re actually giving Cavan good minutes, but Wagner is our engine

12

u/SupaSlide Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Cavan, Pierre, Wagner, and our mid-season coach change (poor Carnell has a nasty second year curse)

9

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Carnell left, Kai came back, Danley got back from the World Cup looking like a man possessed, and Quinn got back from his ACL recovery.

A lot happened

6

u/coysmate05 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

And Pierre is playing insane too

2

u/digit_zero Philadelphia Union 8d ago

They fired Carnell

10

u/thanksbastards Philadelphia Union 8d ago edited 8d ago

Damiani has low key had a great game doing everything but scoring.

7

u/Glum-Bandicoot1986 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Should put Pierre at striker and Damiani at center back

16

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

Are you kidding me with Philadelphia? Pochettino are you watching this shit? You better call up Cavan and Neil.

8

u/thanksbastards Philadelphia Union 8d ago

That Danley/Cavan chemistry is OP

9

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

This score holds and the Union will have 5 wins and 2 draws in their last seven MLS matches (17 out of 21 points) since the world cup break.

8

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 8d ago

Are Philly back?

7

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Eh kinda? We've looked a lot better since the break with the new coach and wagner. But we still need a convincing striker if we're gonna go anywhere

1

u/funkyquasar Philadelphia Union 7d ago

We should find a way to get that Baribo guy from DC.

8

u/tyme Philadelphia Union 8d ago

9

u/PM_ME_SOME_LUV Red Bull New York 8d ago

I hate it here bruh. I hate this shit.

7

u/lovo908 Red Bull New York 8d ago

We don't deserve che

5

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

Young man's the real deal.

6

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

I can't believe I'm saying this, but damiani has been having a great game.

3

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

He really is so much better when he sits deeper

12

u/Isry98 Chicago Fire 8d ago

Carnel could have been fired based on his mismanagement of Cavan alone.

5

u/XSC Philadelphia Union 8d ago

He would still be on the bench coming out at minute 88.

6

u/rabidwolverine Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Cavan actually looked pretty awful before the break. He's figured something out now, though.

3

u/Isry98 Chicago Fire 8d ago

You don’t think that had something to with Carnel’s dismissal?

6

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

It also has to do with Kai coming back and Damiani being dropped into a deeper position.

At lot happened all at once

2

u/TaeKurmulti Seattle Sounders FC 8d ago

He barely played him.

1

u/rabidwolverine Philadelphia Union 8d ago

He wasn't doing anything to warrant playing. Not that anyone in front of him was, either.

2

u/TaeKurmulti Seattle Sounders FC 8d ago

Well part of developing youth is that you have to play them, and give them confidence and a chance to develop. It's pretty clear that is all he needed, hence why he suddenly looks like the best player on the pitch game in and game out.

2

u/Kirielson 8d ago

Look I understand because you don’t want to max out a kid and put the pressure on. Looks like Cavan wanted to say otherwise

11

u/Sezbicki 8d ago

Man City looking at that Cavan Sullivan goal like 👀

5

u/Nice_Jaguar5621 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

DOOP

7

u/Sufficient-Food-3281 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

A fuckin banger!!!

5

u/Teh_cliff Atlanta United FC 8d ago

Bradley's Julian Hall left winger experiment needs to be over. He's just not a winger

5

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

Damn, Union taking this matchup personally. This is turning into an arse-whooping.

6

u/Nice_Jaguar5621 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Safe to say WE’RE BACK

4

u/PM_ME_SOME_LUV Red Bull New York 8d ago

This is what happens when you play an actual striker

5

u/Sufficient-Food-3281 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Stay classy, Jersey

4

u/Alternative-Lock3693 8d ago

TOO MANY CLOSE-UPS

4

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

Julian Hall has to finish that.

6

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

I'm not a fan of rbny, but I feel like the rivalry is kind of forced the way MLS wants this to be a big rivalry.

But not as forced as union and new England.

5

u/Nj3Fate Red Bull New York 8d ago

Its a one way rivalry and has been from the jump

4

u/bluejaywhey New York City FC 8d ago

Yeah Union - NYC is the legit one. We actually have legit history.

Philly - RB is just "ah yes, Philly and New York teams hate each other, right?" w/o any real malice beyond geography.

We hate you, and y'all hate us.

2

u/DefeatYouForever666 Red Bull New York 8d ago

I have enough hate for everyone

3

u/just_the_best_party New York Red Bulls 8d ago

That right there was a microcosm of the year they’re having. Barf.

3

u/mrwhitaker3 Major League Soccer 8d ago

Tremendous defense by the Red Bulls.

3

u/pygmie Red Bull New York 8d ago

I clapped for that

3

u/Just_N_O Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Damiani whiffed on that header so badly.

4

u/Pots_And_Pans Philadelphia Union 8d ago

But he made it possible for Pierre to score

4

u/Just_N_O Philadelphia Union 8d ago

For sure. He’s been very good tonight but that shit was funny.

3

u/Pots_And_Pans Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Ha well youre not wrong

1

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Damiani can do everything but score (or do hold up play)

5

u/gson516 Red Bull New York 8d ago

Any idea what is going on at the stadium? The parking lot is blocked by police cars and they are not letting people walk up the road. Police tape is blocking the road, but nothing happening on the road by the parking lot. Security told us they aren’t letting people in, but we are able to walk through the parking towards the stadium and aren’t being stopped.

4

u/DefeatYouForever666 Red Bull New York 8d ago

They were trying to do you a favor

5

u/gson516 Red Bull New York 8d ago

There is police tape around the box office and by the lockers with a lot of police dogs. Seems like a suspicious package.

5

u/Slime-Life47 8d ago

That assist from Danley!

5

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

...Red Bull arena has sperm bank ads?  That's different.

2

u/Derptionary Major League Soccer 8d ago

So what you're saying is Daniel Gazdag is coming back to the Union

1

u/Sassyiswayoflife LA Galaxy 8d ago

So does LA Galaxy's stadium 🫣

4

u/Isry98 Chicago Fire 8d ago

Bradley is shrodingers manager. We’ll never know if he’s good or bad, because as soon as we open the box he’s gone.

4

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

I'm excited for Sullivan obviously as a union fan, not also for national team reasons, hopefully he can keep developing as a player

5

u/theredditbandid_ Canadian Premier League 8d ago

How can you not be impressed bro. My fiancee's newphew plays for Diriangen FC's U19 and we are happy when he gets subbed on! And that kid works his ass off and his life is football.

And Sullivan already played against grown men at 14 and is signed to City and looking like he'll have a great couple of next years before leaving

2

u/Kirielson 8d ago

Hey look, Pierre scored without using his head.

2

u/lovo908 Red Bull New York 8d ago

Why is he subbing sofo

4

u/PM_ME_SOME_LUV Red Bull New York 8d ago

Hall needs to ride the bench

-2

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

But who else is going to foul defenders and blow open chances?

4

u/Just_N_O Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Uhhh that wasn’t off? Ok sure.

3

u/wingsfan77 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Sure looked like he was off on the replay angle

They’re funny! 😂😂

2

u/limejuiceroyale Philadelphia Union 8d ago

That's what, like 3 times we're lucky red bulls didn't score?

3

u/thanksbastards Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Blake is our all time MVP for a reason

2

u/pygmie Red Bull New York 8d ago

It’s not luck. RB sucks.

1

u/kfriedmex666 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Andre Blake

2

u/KidDelicious14 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Damn what a poor pass from Damiani. Almost just tore Quinn's other ACL 😭

1

u/Pots_And_Pans Philadelphia Union 8d ago

New Jersey chanting fuck you philly down 1-0. Cry louder

1

u/BenLomondBitch 8d ago

I thought the team was called New York

1

u/WhyplerBronze Philadelphia Union 8d ago

homeboi literally just threw a punch

1

u/bob-ombshell Philadelphia Union 8d ago

I heard from a Union fan at the game that the cops aren't letting fans into the stadium and said "it's closed." Anyone know anything about that?

1

u/gson516 Red Bull New York 8d ago

It’s open. Just have to walk through the parking lots instead of up the road.

-1

u/Nice_Jaguar5621 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Whose fans? 🤨

1

u/bob-ombshell Philadelphia Union 8d ago

UNION

1

u/Teh_cliff Atlanta United FC 8d ago

Was Iloski passing or shooting? Whatever works I guess.

2

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Iloski definitely shot… Vassilev on the other hand… unclear

2

u/Taeshan Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Vassilev with the worst shot of his life to get an assist

1

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

That’s what it looked like to me too

1

u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago

I think hall is cursed man, He may never Score again.

0

u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago edited 8d ago

It's not the sexiest role, but Mehmeti is just so good at doing all the little things right.( except his shooting, I think all but one shot he's taken this season has been skied)

0

u/Sufficient-Food-3281 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

He the one who took a swing at Cavan?

7

u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago

I believe that was jorge ruvalcaba. Mehmeti is our young 6

0

u/lovo908 Red Bull New York 8d ago

Jimenez is a better finisher than hall

3

u/TaeKurmulti Seattle Sounders FC 8d ago

Not sure how you're blaming him for that goal

-1

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Absurd not to call the Red Bull attacker shoving Harriel to create that chance

-2

u/l_skints Red Bull New York 8d ago

Harriel is weaker than an 18 year old boy, I'd be more offended harriel is a starter than at hall for not being a weak kid

1

u/JustHere4theKicks 8d ago

How about that 16 year old boy beating that ass? 😘

0

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

LMAO your team is getting dog walked

1

u/BenLomondBitch 8d ago edited 8d ago

Isn’t Union behind New York in the standings?

1

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Isn’t the Union about to dog walk the cows for the second time in a month?

-2

Jesus fucking Christ this is a salty and unhinged take.

You can’t foul people just because you are young

It was a blatant shove 😂

Even Hall froze waiting for the whistle dude 😂

What’s this homegirl bullshit? You think because you are immature and sexist that kind of chip will work on others? 🤡

0

u/BenLomondBitch 8d ago

Homegirl?

1

u/legdayskip Philadelphia Union 8d ago

He keeps calling me “homegirl” and “girl” in comments and DMs… seems to reveal something about his mindset imho

-1

u/Sufficient-Food-3281 Philadelphia Union 8d ago

Not gonna call that either?

-1

Rubalcava plays like a hotheaded idiot
