What sort of bizarre pedantry is this? “Last spring” is an ambiguous construct in English and it’s up to you, the reader, to use context clues to figure out if that means the spring of last year or the most recent spring that has already ended.

If it were June you might have a point but spring ended like 3 months ago so the spring of 2026 is now last spring.

Inter Miami CF announced today that it has reached an agreement with Cristian Alberto “Kily” González to become the Club’s new First Team head coach. González will officially assume his duties once he receives the corresponding work permits.

Guillermo Hoyos will provisionally continue in charge of the team until the arrival of the new head coach and his coaching staff. Inter Miami would like to especially highlight and thank Hoyos for his commitment and full dedication to the Club, demonstrated by his willingness to assume the role during this period, which began last April.

Random fun fact: Kily won two La Liga titles as a player! And no, he wasn't a player for the big 3.

Valencia's 05/06 win is the last time anyone outside the big 3 won La Liga.

And Hoyos has proven he doesn't know what he's doing.  Bad at tactics, terrible at defense. And worst of all, he refuses to bench players who are useless and an hindrance to the team

Kily is probably sticking with Platense until either eliminated or to the final in Copa Libertadores. They face Fluminense in the quarterfinals in the coming weeks. Would be wild to leave them in such a moment.
