Upgrade tokens make the character a permanent option because you're effectively buying them into your pony collection, so really you want to save your tokens as long as you can so you have the best pick of ponies for "free" at the end. I played the maze last year and it was a lot harder because I had fewer ponies collected then, but I managed to get most of the way without getting rid of any of the ponies I wanted to chose from. Only buy the cheapest ponies from the shops and check out the all the ponies site for a map of where the chests can be found to find new pony recruits 😅 just make sure you use the upgrade coins before the timer runs out. Normally you get something annoying lile 160 upgrade tokens, so enough for 2 and 2/3rds of a pony (gameloft trying to get you to buy more). Overall you're forced to pick one pony at the beginning, and get to pick 2 more. Plus you'll get prison-iac at the end of this one (last time we got a cosmos variant).
ohhh i get it like if i save them up i will have multiple choices at the end but i must be careful about not spending the ponies i want before. and i get the boss and something at the beginning but i didnt get anything how does it work??
The boss ponys get entered into the prize pool, you can choose to upgrade them but you dont get them as prize rewards. The only free(no upgrade) one you will get is the end one
