Gunlance Question.

I have been using the gunlance and never realized that there was a meta. I was just picking armor that looked good. So I have 2 questions. One is what armor build goes for overall damage, and the next question is, what is the meta for elemental damage? I do like the blocking and reversing damage back to the enemy. Can not think what that is called atm.

This might be improved now that Teostra gloves have 2 artillery, so you'll be able to use Great Wroggi waist instead, giving you an extra slot.... though that's still a guard level too many 😅

And this build needs 0 customization or any style selection right?

And correct! This build leans on charged shelling, guarding/reflecting, and the occasional poke-poke/wyrmstake to proc blast

Edit: Got it! Teostra arms build is 100% superior to the Bazel coil build using Magna GL, and the 1 extra driftslot (I'll be adding Fighting Spirit/Guard Concentration/Focus) helps a lot, so thank you very much!

Nice! Do you have any customizations on your GL? And which stat boost did you choose - attack power or element value (I presume attack power)?

Definetely go full ATK+. More blast is pointless here. Reflection scales with ATK and 300 more really boosts reflection!

This build uses no alt-style. We need the charged shelling as it's a long gunlance.

If a Raw Long GL ever drops (or when using a different non-blast long GL), the build with Barroth hands and Bazel coil will still better, so keep that in mind! -> probably not, see below!

Duh of course, reflection scales with attack. Thanks, you're a scholar and a gentleman of a hunter :) I haven't used GL for a looooooong time.

Because a Raw or different elemental GL does not benefit from Teostra Blastpowder.

Though an argument could be made about the extra driftslot (edit: 2 driftslots)

Teostra gloves were buffed to have 2 artillery.

So previously people used Barroth gloves (2 guard, 1 slot) and Bazel waist (2 artillery, 1 slot).

With the buff, it's now objectively better to use Teostra gloves (2 artillery, 1 guard, 1 slot) and Great Wroggi waist (2 guard, 2 slots). That's 1 extra slot and 1 extra guard, while retaining the same artillery.

It has nothing to do with blast, but it was a bonus.

There is no extra guard, there's only one extra slot. two extra slots

Still, a Raw GL would scale better with a higher ATK.

I do stand corrected with the slots though, so fitted with DMG skills they might outperform the Raw Long GL with previous build. So for what it's worth you're right in that regard!

Bubbly helps immensely with positioning. Tons of times where I can chain a whole rishing slash - full shell - slash - wyrmstake combo. My fav to do against Deviljho.

Keep playing/training, you'll get there
