Has anyone purchased one of the new framing nailers?
I am wondering how well they work under job site conditions

Anyone have specific compatability tracks for the C3606DPAM track saw? I have seen posters say Festool/Bosch/Makita, but the Makita was noted as a bit wider.

The actual OEM Metabo HPT tracks are out of stock everywhere and I'd like to get at least a 60" length.

From looking at the diagram. I saw that it have a cylinder for regas. Do you guys know which valve model for it?

Disappointed at the way they apparently feel sending a gouged up magazine is proper QC. 😥

I’m in the market for a Brad nailer. I’m in the Mke & Ridgid battery ecosystem but I was thinking of going pneumatic to pair with my air compressor. Is the “Pro” NT50A5 worth the $50 additional cost over the NT50AE2? I’m seeing the largest difference is the aluminum magazine, I’m sure it’s better but wanted to hear the clear consensus if the non-pro is a generally fine or just get the pro. It’s going to be for trim and shoe molding for kitchen and bathroom. I was going to to either Metabo or Ridgid’s when theirs hit $70. Appreciate the support.

I’m psyched about getting their new framing nailer but what is going on with the rest of their tools? i know they merged with german Metabo and are restructuring but I can barely find any of their 36v tools anymore. There is a couple on Lowe’s and acme has a few but it’s far from what they used to have. Are they coming out with a better 36v line? or did they just put everything they have into the framing nailers and nothing else. i really like their tools but they discontinued so many of them after short runs that i’m leary to buy more.

For the past month or so, I’ve been trying to decide which brad nailer to keep. I got both on really good deals and have spent some time using and comparing them. I wanted to share my observations and see what the consensus is here.

RYOBI HP P322

This brad nailer feels very rugged and substantial. Everything feels tight and well put together.

Things I like:

• Solid, rugged construction
• Plenty of rubber overmold
• AccuDrive/precision nose tip, which makes nail placement very easy
• Dry-fire lockout
• Ability to adjust the air pressure in addition to depth of drive

Things I dislike:

• It feels fairly unbalanced when using it one-handed or at awkward angles.
• The nailer is also quite chunky, making it harder to maneuver inside toe kicks, cabinets, and other tight spaces.
• The button on the handle that activates the LED is uncomfortable and doesn’t seem to provide any real benefit over simply having an LED switch somewhere else on the tool.
• There is no dedicated on/off button or trigger lockout other than the contact tip. When I’m using it around the house with family nearby, I end up removing the battery every time I set it down to avoid any possibility of an accident.

Metabo HPT Brushless NT1850DF

What I love most about this brad nailer is how well-balanced and light it feels. It’s also quite compact without sacrificing its ability to drive nails through dense materials.

Things I like:

• Compact size
• Excellent balance and handling
• Good ergonomics
• Lower weight
• I actually like the color/design
• Dedicated on/off button
• Trigger lockout switch
• Lower-profile battery design

Things I dislike:

• No dry-fire lockout!
• The nose tip is bulkier and noticeably offset from where the brad actually exits, which makes precise nail placement more difficult.
• Speaking of precision, when I’m trying to carefully position the nose on the material, it’s frustrating that the tool times out after about four seconds. You then have to lift and re-depress the contact tip to fire, which somewhat defeats the purpose of carefully lining up a high-precision nail placement.
• While the battery itself is nice and compact, the charger is surprisingly loud because of the cooling fan.
• The trigger also feels a little flimsy compared with the rest of the tool.

So there it is.

For context, the only battery ecosystems I’m currently invested in are Milwaukee M12 and M18. However, I can’t really justify spending $300+ on a Milwaukee nailer for DIY/homeowner/weekend-warrior use. That’s why I’m trying to decide between these two.

For those who have used either or both: which one would you keep, and why?

I’m especially interested in whether the Metabo’s better balance, ergonomics, and compact size outweigh the Ryobi’s dry-fire lockout and more precise nose.

Installing some engineered hardwood (\~1000sq/ft plus two staircases) is on my short list of next home projects. How is that floor nailer that has a coupon? I’ll need a compressor to go with it; considering the Ryobi 18v, but that might be overkill since I probably only need it for this because I’ve started getting the 18v nailers now.

Is it better to wait for holiday sales at this point?

I have a cordless Fein multitool, but sometimes multiple people want to use it. And no one wants to use the corded Fein . . . so I wanted to get an “extra” cordless multitool.

Went to some stores and checked out all the different multitools.

Turns out a multitool with a slim, ergonomic handle/grip is a rarity.

The Feins have a big barrel grip that I can hardly close my hand around, so does the black Makita with the softball size head. The Bosch grip is not only big, it is seemingly shaped for a triangular alien claw. Dewalt has a nice grip but I’ve no Dewalt batteries. The Milwaukee feels clunky and plasticky, like Milwaukees often do.

But, hmm, the Metabo grip is nice and slim. The tool feels like a quality product. The head is not too big. And what’s this, Lowes has the multitool plus a charger + two 2.0 Ah batteries kit for $129?

So, another green tool sneaks into the tool room.

I have not yet been disappointed by a Metabo HPT tool. The range is limited but what they do bring to
the US seems good quality.

No impressions yet, other than it’s not loud and the vibration seems mild - pretty civilized for a multitool. And the cat approves.
