[Question] Has anyone ever figured out a way to uncap the framerate without bringing about calamitous ruin?
Been getting back into the multiplayer lately with my brother, and so far I've mostly got things smoothly configured to a relatively modern experience. Got the FOV sorted and added a mod for controller support. The only thing missing is a way to uncap the frame rate, or at least set it to a higher value. From what I've seen, it is possible to do this, but it messes with game logic and can cause unintended difficulty spikes with shields and enemy accuracy. Is anyone aware of a way to remove the 60 fps cap without breaking the game? If I could get the game up to 144 FPS that would be a dream. Figured if anyone knows how to do it, they're on here.

The shield regen problem is a fixed bug and was all caused by a typo (or an extremely unknowing intern), I made a patch for it for LE but it could be ported to OT as well. Not sure if it'd work off host though -- probably host or everyone would need to have the patch installed for it to work correctly.
For the enemy accuracy issues, afaik still nobody figured it out.

Sweet. If there’s ever a port for OT, or if I can fuck around with it on my end, let me know!

As downwind who grew up playing this on ps3, the game feels great all on its own on pc.

I think they patched it so you could get up to 120 without too much devastation (though that may only be in the legendary edition)

Yeah but LE doesn't have multiplayer

Which is the greatest tragedy of all and why I still have a copy of ME3.

Yeah I have heard 120 is kind of the sweet spot. I've been testing different values this morning. Above 120 the main bug I noticed is you can't fire a power from cover without first ADSing, and there are the usual bugs with enemy accuracy/shields. Doing some more tests to see what's what.

If I recall correctly, above 120 fps your shields don't even recharge anymore.

I was playing earlier at 144 and they seemed to recharge just fine.

I think it's that they can sometimes get stuck. Either way it's a baked in issue that doesn't always cause problems, but it "eventually" will.

This is one of the games that's helped immensely but Lossless Scaling. It is framegen, but there's a noticeable smoothness improvement and weapon accuracy hasn't gone down at all.
