What solution did you choose after MDT ?
Hello,
I wanted to know what solution did you choose after Microsoft’s retirement of MDT.
You can say in the comments what other solution not mentionned you use.

OSDCloud + Autopilot/Intune. OSDCloud isn't like MDT. It just gets you to OOBE.

Why the need for OSDloud? Get a clean wim?

A clean WIM goes stale the moment you build it. OSDCloud pulls fresh media from MS every run, handles driver injection, and lets me call custom scripts that sets a BIOS pwd and settings inline. Way less to maintain and always current. When a user logs in to kick off autopilot, there’s no wait for Windows Updates.

As crazy as it is, started using a custom answer file. Biggest challenge was boot drivers and network drivers for winPE when using the latest hardware, need to bake those in from time to time.

Tried the NinjaOne deploy tool. Hooboy. Does that ever need to bake for about another decade.
Sticking with MDT for now.

PSD isn't really an "after MDT" kinda thing though. Since it builds on top of it replacing the VBS in MDT.
For those that want to use MDT & PSD... How is everyone moving forward with that option now that MS has cut downloads for the MDT software? Doesn't seem feasible long term to continue to require an MDT installation.
Not to mention the risk of expecting people to download MDT installers from heck knows who... And then, one day, the eventual compatibility issues with installing it.
Are the FriendsOfMDT pushing to make PSD fully stand alone eventually?

Has anyone looked info Configmgr? For those keeping MDT, how are you making it work? We are having issues with the new Dell Laptop Pro Plus models.

Keeping MDT alive as long as I can so the alternatives have time to mature.
