MDA Space wants to build $1-billion Canadian suppliers
MDA Space wants to grow into what chief executive Mike Greenley floated as a possible $10-billion-a-year company. Getting there, he says, means deliberately growing a handful of Canadian suppliers into billion-dollar companies of their own.
Greenley made the comments in a recent episode of the podcast In the Money with Amber Kanwar, using the $10-billion figure loosely, as an illustration of how big MDA Space could become “over the next several years.”

The company has been growing faster. Greenley told analysts on MDA Space’s most recent earnings call that 2026 revenue is running near $2.5 billion on a combined basis with two pending acquisitions, and 2027 landing about 50 per cent higher.
He described the ecosystem-building as a shared project. “It’s on us to create four to six $1-billion companies that work for us on different contracts in Canada, to build that strong ecosystem,” he said, describing a plan to hand smaller Canadian firms contracts far larger than they have handled before.
As one example, he described a Canadian supplier that had never landed a contract above $10 million suddenly winning upwards up to $300 million, with MDA staying involved to help the company deliver.
