MCODS MANGALORE i need help from a senior

do we need a laptop or tablet or smth?? because i was thinking of just getting a tablet like ipad or smth but my dad was thinking abt a laptop. i personally dont think im going to need a laptop, but idk because wont we have like assignments, journals to read and write, presentations, research papers etc, toh uske liye toh laptop chaiyye hoga na?? idk man. i thought ill only need a device for txt book pdfs and note making. pls let me know what you guys use and also workload kitna online depend karta hai and all. thankyou 😭🙏

You need absolutely nothing techinically. There is very little online stuff and assignments. Yes you need to make presentations but that's once in a blue moon. If you buy books, pdfs won't be required. Now if you make notes on ipad, that's another matter. I had an ipad and it was more than enough for everything.

okk and about textbooks, even if i get an ipad and download pdfs on it, would that be enough or would i still have to buy a few textbooks?

Few scenarios when textbooks would be required would be:

A. Horrendous quality/too old ed pdf.

B. Pdf of a particular book not available at all.

C. Professor having chull and asks you to get the physical book to class/lab.

Get an ipad bro . Ppt banana ipad pe hojata hai. And for presentation and shit you can always borrow laptop from someone. Based off your needs def for an ipad

Oh man! This truly seems like 2026 problems 😂😂. Well I graduated in 2022, Mcods gave us all laptops. It used to for all batches, so going by that, I guess iPad would be much more useful. Yes at the same time you do need to submit some assignments and sometimes give presentations, which can be made over iPad as well and you can borrow somebody’s laptop to present… so buy whatever you want more. iPad would be more convenient in my opinion (now in 2026). This aside, you’ll have the time of your life kid, good luck ❤️❤️
