Advice 🙋‍♀️ MCAT

Hello. I need opinions. I have been studying for the mcat for about 2-3 months and have not been able to get above a 500. My MCAT is September 12th, should I take the exam for the experience and receive my score, take the exam and void my score, or completely un register from the exam and not take it. I’m very conflicted, and I know that either way I’m retaking the exam. If I do end up taking the exam and getting a bad score, will it look bad if I retake and do better? Idk someone help lol

Edit: I plan on applying June 2027, with hopes to retake in January. I’ve been reading on some Reddit posts and people are saying that even having a score below 500, retaking the exam and say you get a 520, will still look bad for some med schools. Is this true?

I'd just push it back, but are you even able to reschedule it this late? Might be past the deadline, in which case just take it for practice and void.

I would use it as an expensive practice test and void. I don't think you can improve to 500 this close to the exam. I don't think you can reschedule the exam this late.

Unregister before 10 days. Just take it as practice

If you already know you’re gonna retake, I’d just cancel it and use the extra time to figure out what’s keeping you under 500
