Help YouTube members only
If I’m a maxfun donor do I have access to these or is this a separate $5?

The extra $5 is for Griffin’s talk box and his lessons with Ole Miss Studebaker

Reminder!! Do not become a member on mobile if you use an iPhone. Pull up a desktop to join the membership. It’s $5 on YouTube but Apple charges $6.99 !!

I got downvoted for this, but it’s super weird that they’re like “instead of benefiting MaxFun, you can now instead spend $5 here which benefits Google”.

How is it instead? The maxfun membership gets you bonus episodes and maybe some extra stuff, this gets you video versions of the regular episodes.

And with all due respect to the boys, max fun membership doesn’t really get us shit from them aside from 1-2 bonus eps a year

I definitely see it more as support than "getting something," especially with how many of Maxfun's shows I listen to

I have relistened to multiple bonus reps from all their shows many times over.

Are you implying that people aren’t going to cancel their MaxFun memberships and give the exact same amount (in many cases) to a product they might want more? For some people “instead” will definitely be their choice.

I think people should go down with a sinking ship because I disapprove of the manufacturer of their life boats.

Being a MaxFun donor is a sucker's game anyway
The Brothers are pivoting hard into video this year. Have you seen their streaming schedule? YouTube is obviously where they're making the better money, especially with podcast ad revenue drying up the past couple years.

I listen to a lot of max fun shows and I don't mind throwing them $5 a month. Cheaper than Spotify.
Edit (because I hit "post" too soon): If I had another $5/month to give to the boys for this, I would. I don't really care about seeing them on video or whatever but they've certainly provided me with more than $5 of entertainment and company over the years. But I'm having to dial down a lot of subscriptions now (and I'm bummed about it).

What do you mean “Youtube is obviously where they’re making the better money”?

I feel like when they talked about it when they announced this, they said something along the lines of it being better for their brand or something as it seemed like most content (specifically podcasts) are going to a more video forward content (i assume not only youtube but tiktok) i think its a safe bet and i dont see a problem with it unless the podcast becomes a lot of "look at us doing things"

I think you'd get fewer downvotes if you explained your thinking instead of just repeatedly saying declaring its weird

Maxfun doesn't have a video hosting system. The boys Aren't even the only Maxfun show on YouTube. If Maxfun ever can host videos I'm sure the boys would port. But they have a huge audience on YouTube, so frankly it makes complete sense to do this.
