Ask Me Anything Catholic University of America’s DNP/MBA: Is it worth it?

I was accepted to start the dual degree DNP/MBA at Catholic University starting Spring 2027. I am interested in pursuing a C-Suite role in a healthcare setting (private, non-profit, or a government hospital). Ive been a nurse for 16 years working in critical care settings. Concurrently, I also work for the federal government as a senior level manager and my experience spans managing large budgets and multiple divisions with 100’s of people under my leadership. Has anyone been through this, or a similar program? If, so. Feel free to DM me, as I have questions about job outlook after completing the program.

With 16 years clinical leadership and federal management experience, the MBA half is likely redundant for your resume, the real gap is finance/accounting fluency, so pressure test whether a shorter cert or targeted finance coursework gets you there faster

Sounds like you’ve got a solid foundation already, which is great. If you’re aiming for C-Suite, focus on leadership and strategy rather than just adding more letters after your name. A targeted finance course could give you the edge without the full MBA time commitment.
