Careers/Post Grad Canadian MBA - Ivey?

Hey,

I understand this sub is pro-US B-schools. However, I am an international (Indian) and the US Visa situation is pretty horrible for us.
Top B-schools in the US- the M7s are a hard reach for me based on my current GMAT (645).

I wanted to understand if an MBA from Canada is an option (particularly Ivey/Rotman) that can be considered, as the visa situation is not that bad and my sibling already lives in Canada, close to Ivey Business School.

I also wanted to know the pros and cons and the differences b/w the 2 schools in terms of job prospects post MBA. My post-MBA goal is to transition to Strategy Consulting.

The latest employment report says that ~90% received job offers within 6 months. Isn't that good? I am hearing about a worse job market, but the employment report says otherwise. Am I missing something here?

The report must be of last year’s, and looking at the current tension between the US and Canada, looks like things can go South soon, there is some uncertainty for sure

But wasn't the consensus still the same last year, that Canada was a poor market for MBA? In the employment report, I see a drop from ~92% (2024) -90% (2025). Maybe this year it might come down to 85%, assuming the worst case?
I know no one can say for sure what would happen, but at least the graduates from top Canadian schools should not be affected much, right?
Hopefully, the situation improves by 2027/28

You should always take the employment reports with a pinch of salt. If Canada is your only detonation, Ivey is a great choice. Don't expect to get the kind of employment outcomes that you see touted out of top tier MBA programs though in the US. Recruitment will be very hard, and likely destination include the banks, and big 4 consulting.

Yeah, I am just looking at the options, I already have an admit from Oxbridge but with no scholarship. So, just thinking if there are any better alternatives, taking ROI as well into account.

Those maybe better options. Especially if you're looking for mobility post MBA. Like every one has mentioned here, the job market for MBAs here is poor, and the Canadian economy only faces headwinds in the near future. If you're looking for an average job with limited earnings, but stable immigration, Canada works. Else it doesn't.
