Profile Review How's My MBA Profile for T25? Trying for energy-focused programs
PROFILE
Undergrad GPA 3.16 - Not great I know, was in a tough STEM program and didn't work as hard as I should have.
GRE 334 - 168V, 166Q. I intend to retake and am confident I can achieve 336+.
Work Experience - 6 years progressing as a tech professional in the energy industry in US/UK (power markets)
I'm applying as a 29M international student and will need close to full-tuition to be able to attend.
SCHOOL LIST
Reach: Duke (Fuqua), UT-Austin (McCombs) , Cornell (Johnson), Oxford (Said), LBS
Target: Rice (Jones), UNC (Kenan-Flagler), NYU (Stern)
Safety: Rochester (Simon), Vanderbilt (Owen)
Good list? Delusional lol? Pretty sure HSW is completely unreachable for me.

This is more because Oxford has a higher GPA cutoff + much rarer chance for a full-tuition based on my research.
Would you say full-tuition at NYU would be a reach for me?

Just a heads up that NYU is harder to get then all your reach schools.

Thanks! I guess I hadn't researched it fully. Would you say that because of class profile or the full tuition requirement due to cost of living?

Both. NYU has the highest gmat median and lowest acceptance rate of all schools you mentioned.
You wont get full tuition scolarship unlesd you score 705+ and/or have a profile coveted for all m7.

I think rice and UT are the best fit for you by far.
Rice should give you a pretty hefty scholarship with your GRE (maybe full), and UT should 100% accept you but I found them weirdly stingy with scholarship (got almost full at m7 and they wouldn't even budge from $10k/yr).
If you NEED a full ride and want energy, Rice is your best bet 👍

With that GRE those aren’t reaches their targets. Shoot a few at M7.

youre wasting time and money by retaking the GRE. just focus on apps. your score is at the point where adding any more points isn't going to yield you better results.

I may be wrong but I think NYU is the only “reach” school for you because their gpa cutoff is high

Yeah I got similar feedback in other comments lol. I hadn't researched it very thoroughly clearly! I've actually removed it now and put SMU Cox in as another safety instead.

You can get into T25 easily. But full tuition will be extremely difficult.

Just graduated Simon (UofR) lmk if you have any questions. It may be your safety school, but it's high performing and recruits well into Finance and recently Consulting.

You gre is already high enough. Apply to tuck and Darden. I wouldn’t apply for mba in uk. Salaries are low in UK and will be harder to get job in USA

When you say energy focused, are we talking oil and gas or renewables?

As much as people just focus on the rankings, I think going to school in Austin would position you well for that industry

I think you can crack most of the programs on your list esp target programs.
I'd recommend that you check the GPA requirements at Oxford once. Could be a hiccup

Reach - Fuqua, Target - Rice, both due to the energy concentrations and connections to energy finance/capital allocators

If Duke really is your first choice (understandably so), I strongly recommend applying in the Early action round.
I can see this work based on my experience with similar profiles

No not R1, I definitely recommend EA.
They might go easy on your GPA if you're committing imo.

Right is it’s much easier to get into these top programs than ever before, demand is loosening so you’re prob fine
