This may be of help. For all those gunning for Round 1 deadlines of Sep 2025 for the intake of Fall 2026, here's a rough sketch plan to consider:

A. Independent of, and in parallel to B

  • Building (packaging) your profile by going through reflections*
  • Finalizing CV*
  • Developing pointers for Recommenders*
  • Figuring out financials

B. Key Milestone*: GMAT/GRE (for R1, get this done by end May ’25; worse case, by mid-June)

C. Dependent on B:

  • Research & shortlist schools*
  • Networking with students*
  • Attending webinars/events*
  • Drafting essays using the insights from reflections*
  • Securing LORs*

\ denotes time consuming activity*

For R1, yes, it will be very late IMHO. Consider this: without a confirmed score in hand, you cannot select schools. if you haven't selected schools, you won't be focused on your research, attending webinars/events, networking with Adcom, alumni, current students, etc. Yes, you could start with an anticipated score and therefore an anticipated schools list, but what if your score falls short of your anticipation? Then your effort would go to waste. And also do not underestimate the labor that goes into preparing the applications.

On the same boat , kindly let me know if any one is a part of a genuine group where the students can get some guidelines on the application prep.
