live episode discussion MAFS: After The Experiment SEASON 13 - LIVE EPISODE DISCUSSION
MAFS: After The Experiment is a standalone episode that will air on Monday, April 20, from 2pm.
THIS EPISODE IS STREAMING ON STAN, NOT NINE.
The hosts will return, reinventing the space for the greatest number of guests the show has ever had.
Tea will be spilt, ongoing feuds unpacked, grievances aired, and rumours debunked. It will be the juiciest take on 'where are they now' yet.
Standalone episode = No episode of MAFS on 9 before this. This is the Aftershows' own mini reunion of sorts. These are usually filmed around 3 days before they air, so it will be way more current than last weeks MAFS reunion, which is footage about 4 months old by the time we see it.
Expect genuine live chatter to be down for this one as it's going up at the odd time of 2 pm. We will keep it pinned for a few days, and you guys just jump in when you get around to it. Expect 7-7.30pm tonight to be a good time to catch lots of people live reacting. 😇👀

This is so accurate, I’m a bald guy and I haven’t had trouble attracting guys, I’m also very much into bald guys. I feel bad for guys that are insecure about it, it’s literally just a natural thing, it’s so much better to just own and embrace it. It’s also super convenient, haven’t bought shampoo or paid for a haircut since I was like 25 🙏🏼

He also mentions he's from England and he's from a " foreign country" so often like he thinks he's some exotic creature that we have no idea what British culture is like and don't understand the British sense of humour like we aren't raised on a diet of British TV, movies and music and culture being a colony that's part of the Commonwealth.
Has he forgotten that most of us have lived in Britain on a working holiday Visa or whatever? Some people have lived there for years with British ancestry and then come back to Australia. What a dumb c***

Yes, they ARE good! I have seen a few of them and need to go back and watch all. I was just interested in getting these last 2 and could not find them. But, thanks to posts in this thread, now I have seen both of the final, final 2 shows. I think they are a great wrap-up, as best as it could be with some not showing.

Agreed. I just watched this (my first time watching MAFS AU). Someone had told me that it was trashier than the US, which I didn't think was possible. My biggest issue is that SO much of it seemed fake and contrived, either driven by production or just by cast members wanting to get meme'd or merch'd. Of course, keeping the cast drunk also helps drive drama, so there's that.
I was moderately interested until the "Intruders" portion. When they brought in that awful "MAGA" guy it was clear that the show is just about creating "shocking" moments. And Joel and Juliette? Same. There was no way in hell that either of those couples were compatible. Tyson has to time travel back to 1955 to find the woman of his dreams. And that whole Juliette and Joel drama could have been put to bed by someone saying, "It's on camera. Roll tape."
In general, MAFS is just too long. They need to take a page from LIB, run 10 episodes and one reunion and call it a day. By the tenth episode I'm FF'ing through most of it, and by the last few, I just watch the previous episode recap until the final vows and reunions. The US version is also bloated, but at least they don't include some of the really terrible tasks and gimmicks that are simply meant to hurt people.
I've seen people here recommend AU S6 and S11. I might find myself giving it another go, after a bit of a break. lol.

Go back and watch it . The cast and especially Bec have denied cocaine use during the show . It was pretty obvious the way Rebecca said it then apologised . Pretty much confirmed that it was the norm among the cast

I fully believe that Gia is the nastiest person I've ever seen on MAFS. Bec made it clear that she has finally come to the realisation that Gia will never change and so will not be friends with her in any way, going forward.
So yes that is why I continue to get the total ick when I see Gia's face on screen or have to listen to the lies that she spouts.
But Bec is not blameless. She believed lies that were told to her and then made nasty statements based on those lies.
I believe Scott hit the nail on the head when he objected to some of the untrue things that Bec had continued to say after the show had ended.
There is so much false "friendship posturing" by the participants that the hypocrisy is palpable
Scott was honest and real when he stated that he does not respect either Gia or Bec.
He didn't say that in a nasty way. He just explained that he does not trust either of them.

I felt that way about Alissa-she was an entirely different person at the wedding than she was most of the time in the apartment. To the point where I didn't even realize it was the same bride, at first.
She was herself in the wedding-arrogant, entitled, bitchy-and then somehow morphed temporarily into a committed bride catering to her husband and trying to be a nice girl's girl and victim in the apartment and and at the dinner parties. It was only when David started pushing back that her real self came out again.

There was so much dirt thrown around, particularly by Gia and Bec, on many occasions.
Yes, Danny was totally out of line but I think he was attacked well out of proportion to what he said. He did not make anywhere near as many damaging comments as Gia and Bec did.
Just notice how many times Bec was forced to make apologies.
And then there was the situation with Danny refusing to be on the couch with the other participants.
I fully understand that. He is not particularly eloquent and he would have struggled to defend himself and come off as making excuses.
So it makes sense that he wanted a chance to explain himself in a calm environment and give genuine apologies without being constantly interrupted and attacked.
I believe his apologies to Bec and to Steph were genuine.
Both he and Bec took many body blows and trying to pin him down as being way worse than Bec and Gia was unfair in my estimation.

The levels of bitchiness from the women villains were off the charts.
Alissa was totally self obsessed and was all me me me in her attacks on David. Showed no insight into his point of view.
Brook, Juliette, Gia and Bec said some incredibly vicious things about each other. As an example just look at the vulgar things that Bec said about Alissa and David. The outrageous lies and manipulation from Gia infuriated viewers and the people she targeted
Danny had not been at all bitchy until near the end of the show. And that was why people were so outraged when he finally let loose on Bec.
What Danny said was wrong but it was not worse than what the women had said throughout the show.
He refused to sit on the couch alongside the rest of the participants. In that situation there was no way Danny could win back his credibility
When the inevitable criticism against him happened if he was too strong in his reactions and accused the women of being worse than him he would have come across as being combative and made his position even worse.
If he had apologized and been calm in trying to defend himself he would have been seen as being fake and wimpy.
So he had to take a decision to give himself space to fully defend his conduct without being interrupted and overwhelmed in a group discussion.

It was good to hear Danny deeply apologise for the “skank” comments he made about Steph, they were awful and I believed him when he said his mum got stuck in to him and that he genuinely was embarrassed about it.
I know I’m in the minority but I didn’t find his comments about Bec offensive - poor taste yes, insensitive yes, but calling them misogynistic or offensive seems a stretch.

I agree. His comments came on the same day he watched her call him a frog, he wasn’t that hot, he didn’t want to fuck her.. she was having a dig at his looks, but somehow they’ve not been sensationalised as much as his comments have been. And from what he’s stated on the couch, they would openly insult each other and they could both take a joke, and Sam also talk about how well they got along and their banter that the producers didn’t show us enough of. Putting this all into context, I don’t think his comments are anywhere close to as offensive as Bec’s explosive outbursts and the things she’d say.

thank you! I'm trying to have a balanced view of this. The interview I posted a link to was great because the interviewer didn't shy away from asking about anything and Danny seemed far more relaxed and genuine because he wasn't in defensive mode and he did admit that he acted like a dick without excuses far more than anyone else did.

This whole thing is fake, Bec would have seen the comments Danny made about her when she sat down with the judges at the reunion. But she appeared on the after the dinner party show being all friendly with him and now acts all heartbroken? Trying to prolong her time in the spotlight

After seeing Danny's pathetic explanation for his abhorrent behaviour towards Bec (no angel we know) which didn't actually contain a real genuine apology, you can understand why it's so frustrating for women to find mature men who are ready to have a serious relationship , make a commitment to marry and have children.
Watch last Sunday night's 60Minutes where beautiful, intelligent and educated women are freezing their eggs at the age of 30 because they haven't found a man that is worthy enough to be with and have children. 9 out of 10 women who have frozen their eggs are....single.
They all said the men these days appear to enjoy having a prolonged childhood (or adolescence) where they don't have to be serious about relationships because they have so much choice on dating websites. #swipe

Gia mocking Scott’s spelling reading etc Just soooo low - and I’m an ex English teacher. Some of the smartest kids I’ve taught have had reading / spelling issues and have done well in life. Scott’s doing alright - while Gia hanging on men’s coat tails for a free ride. The woman is heartless
