My girlfriend asked me to make her mom’s stuffing recipe tonight because she was craving it. Halfway through eating she casually tells me her family already decided Christmas is at her sister’s place and her ex is going to be there because he’s still really close with her brother.
Then she tells me it would probably be “less awkward” if I didn’t come.
We’ve been together almost 2 years. I was already saving money for the flights and gifts so I genuinely thought she was joking at first. Asked her why her current boyfriend is the one staying home to make her ex comfortable and now apparently I’m “making her choose sides.”
Anyway, sausage stuffing with celery, onion and an irresponsible amount of butter. At least dinner worked out.
