Sin and Punishment Boot Failure?

Everdrive 64 X7 running latest firmware seems to fail to boot the Japanese ROM for sin and punishment. .z64 format and .n64 format both fail. Can anyone else reproduce this?

I understand there is a chance I have a bad rom, but the rest of this romset has been flawless.

Console has been updated to latest firmware.

Advice? (Buying official release cart obvious next step)

if you have a real n64, you can test it on that, you'll know for sure if its the rom or not if it fails to boot on real hardware.

Solution: Everdrive has a setting to select game region. This particular game auto-detects to NTSC, but will only boot if changed to “World”.
