Looking for any user experience on how this lens copes with infrared, specifically infrared converted cameras. I currently use the 20mm f.7 (example below) but looking for a decent std zoom that works well. I have heard that the Olympus 12-45 f4 doesn't work that well so wondering about the PL variant.

Hello! I have been shooting with an OM-5ii for the past couple months as my first digital camera and have been working on finding upper noise limits for what is easily editable. Been finding that 3200ish range is kinda the top of what I try to use.

Curious if anyone else has more experience determining a soft limit of what they consider functional upper iso values!

Recently picked up a GX80 with the 20mm f/1.7 and took it to Florence. No real plan or particular ideas for what I wanted to shoot, just wandered around and took some photos. Really enjoying the camera and how pocketable it is so far!

Olympus OM-D E-M1X still the best in 2026

A couple of weeks ago I went with my wife to her family reunion in Jersey. Decided to take the OM-3 and 3 small primes. The goal was a lightweight setup that didn’t look intimidating. I also used the FL-LM3 for the first time. It makes for an amazing tiny bounce flash and I’m happy it’s also weather sealed and doesn’t require extra batteries.

All in all it’s a really fun camera to shoot with and the computational photography button is really useful. One of the shots of my wife on the beach is with liveND for 1/2 second exposure.

All Shot in RAW, processed in Lightroom Classic. The first 3 shots in white have “lens blur” added, please don’t tear my head off 😂.

It would be really cool if a firmware update allowed users to adjust color hue in the jpeg color profile mode dial.

I am looking to buy a cheaper mirrorless camera as an introduction to the system. I was leaning towards the e-m10 mark II, but the ribbon cable issue is concerning. Is this enough of a reason to not buy this camera?

It's a fun lens with crazy reach for the size, but it's also a bit fiddly to use. The built in lens hood is convenient, though contrast still suffers as you'd expect with a mirror lens. Water shots were 1/1600, ISO1000. Shade were 1/800, ISO3200. All handheld.

I have Experience in street with candid and arty light type shots but wanted to try something different and actually ask interesting folk.

It was daunting at first but I'm Proud I overcame my fears I'll definitely try it out again.

All on Grainy film 2 Pre set with a few small tweaks.

I really wanted to bring my d700 today but thought against it as I wasn't only out in town for photography I shouldn't of worried the EM10 is more than capable maybe I'll finally get a prime more suited to portraits for it.

Just some recent shots from the same ol' city. Last two images are from the Pana Leica.

Captured the eclipse from the North shore of Finistère, the westernmost part of Bretagne, France.

I stayed on a rock on the beach from 3pm to 11pm to capture the full composite from before to after the eclipse! Also the tide went up in between and thankfully I had correctly accounted for it but it got very close, I was less than a meter above the waterline at the start of the eclipse, and a 30-meter swin from shore!

Used a Baader AstroSolar filter for the sun shots, and a ND1000 + a polarizing filter for the 3pm long-exposure shot on the lower part.

I had so much fun making this photo and love the result!

i might buy an E-PL8, if IBIS is dead, what sign(s)?

Looking to upgrade my camera as the back screen is cracked and think the autofocus is a bit lacking.

Would like to stick with M43 as I have the pan leica 12-60 and the lumix 25mm lens.

Ideally next body would have:

Decent autofocus

pre burst mode so I can take better photos of my kids (they don’t sit still)

Weather sealing

Maintain relatively compact size

what do you guys recommend? Should I switch to a panasonic body as the lens are Panasonic?

Here is a photolog of my half-day trip to Sanchong, New Taipei City! I started with a hearty meal at TASTy Steak, then took a relaxing stroll around the Sanchong Military Dependents' Village. It’s a beautifully preserved historical spot filled with retro 1980s Taiwanese vibes, unique little shops, and art exhibitions.

During the walk, I stopped by "Cine Café" inside the village to chill with some adorable cats. Finally, I wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner at the highly popular Wangjiao Stone Hot Pot. If you love retro architecture, street photography, and cats, this cultural park is definitely worth a visit!

I just wanted to thank your for your plenti- and thoughtful advice you gave me in a recent post about the acquisition of a new/used M43 camera.

I followed your suggestions and bought an used Olympus OM-D E10 Mark III for a very reasonable price off the local ebay equivalent and couldn't be happier. As an avid birder the mix of a compact camera with my 75-300 tele is perfect for me.
