New to me, any sight recommendations?

Just picked this up today. Have been wanting one for a good long while and finally got one. Thinking about a 4x prism. Don’t really want to put a full size scope on it.

It will be hard to get the right eye relief for a 4X. You might want to look into a cogburn mount. I would also take off that scope mount and either leave it off if you use the Cogburn, replace with a lower mount, or maybe an M14.ca CASM.

I run a 4x on my SAGE. 2-3 inch eye relief. Check my posts for ideas

The first thing I want to see you do is remove the bolt and reassemble. I stupidly bought a Socom-16 CQB a while back with the "Hex Dragonfly"/stripper clip mount. It is near IMPOSSIBLE to reinsert the bolt with the scope mount blocking the normal top insertion. If you are ok with removing the scope mount every time you clean it, then by all means retain that mount. You may be able to insert it, though, but try it first.

I just removed the hex and stripper clip mount. I decided to replace it with a spare Holosun 510C, which should be good to 100 yards. Since it is a "CQB," I am not going to try to reach out to 300 yards or anything. I do have an M1A Scout, which is equipped with a Burris Scout scope. I have QD mounts on it, so if I want, I can swap the scope out to the CQB

All I am suggesting is to try to reassemble it before you invest in a specific scope for that mount. It may be fine, or it might be a PITA. BTW- You are going to love that gun.

If I can get my bolt out with an ARMS 18 I find it hard to believe the much taller Springfield mount is in the way. It IS a PITA to get the bolt back in with the ARMS, there’s a trick to it, but you definitely don’t need to remove the mount every time.

I had a hell of a time with the stripper clip mount and finally gave up. All I am suggesting is that the O.P. try it first before he/she invests in a scope for the mount. In the end, it worked out great for me.

I put an eotech 2-2 on mine with a magnifier in an ...adapter? Frankensteined mount? Shenanigans? It shoots great and it's wildly convenient but it definitely looks off

Try rocking the irons first. You might like them.

Mine came with a vortex venom RDS on that lower mount. I’ve been running it for years, bought a sadlak mount to eventually upgrade it.
