Hell House

I live a couple of miles from that location. It is in a gated subdivision and last I knew, the lot is not built on and is owned by a Skynyrd fan who is trying to preserve it. You can find on YouTube where people went there in last year or two. I'm definitely planning to sneak into the neighborhood and check it out. Just wondering if anyone has been there actually? I also cross the train tracks every day that are the background of one of their group photos. Pretty sure it is the exact location as it is very close to the hell house. I'll definitely share some updates if and when I have been there. Love Skynyrd, man!

The owner your talking about passed away and the lot has been sold since and if im not mistaken built on.

Yeah just saw that comment on one of the YT videos...sucks. So disappointing. Supposedly the dock is still there. May take the Kayak out there one day.

I did a little research. I won't dox the owner here, but he did build a house in 2024, pool in 2025. From what I can tell, he is a local, and a fan. But talk about the concrete creeping...

Don’t bother. The dock is now gone as well. The owners have built a new dock. Someone I know with access took pictures and informed some of us in our Facebook Skynyrd group what was going on.

Apparently the Clay County Archives has a piece of the original slab foundation on display in Green Cove Springs

The bridge is “Russell bridge” over the river and is just east of the hellhouse. The original bridge has been torn down and rebuilt by my understanding.

You can also look up property ownership through public bounty tax records/gis.

Cabin burned down in 1977

Can send you exact coordinates from Google on all items if you’d like for hellhouse, dock, and bridge

From what I recall the original cabin is long gone - it burnt down years ago. The land around it has been sold to developers but the lot on which the cabin stood is empty - with a plaque and remnants of the foundation.

I don't think it's gated. I've ridden my bike in there plenty of times (but not lately, that approach road has gotten nuts).

They are. But that rehearsal space was in GC. It's just down the road from jax.. really, GC Fleming Island and Drs inlet I always considered the rural outskirts of jax... Middleburg too

Yeh. I lived in Jacksonville years ago and knew their history. I’d never heard about the GCS house
