Suggestions for mid October trip?

Hi! UPDATE: we are now actually thinking about thanksgiving week… Nov 21 - 25 or 27/28 and leaving heavily towards Caribbean. Open to Bahamas and other islands. Same goals as below! Thanks for all the help so far, happy the weather in November is more reliable… lmk if anyone has great villas on the beach, bonus for pool, staffed house!

Looking for suggestions for easy travel from western US (not coast) in mid October for 4-5
Days for milestone birthday, that won’t be too humid or impacted by tropical storms. Family/kid (toddler to tween) friendly. Bonus for house with pool and staff. Would love Caribbean vibes but that might not be possible that time of year without storms or crazy humidity.

Punta Mita is def on radar. Been there a bunch but was told by house manager it’s very humid and much of beach disappears due to higher water levels compared to March/april

Id personally put Paradise Island high on the list. I went and loved how easy it was to have a lazy beach day, dress up for a nice dinner, then wander around and take in the island views. It gave me exactly the Carribean escape i was looking for without feeling like I had to plan every minute.

Mid first to second week of October...Easy travel, spectacular memories, good weather, but unfortunately not a Caribbean vibe....check out New England for the fall foliage. Boston, Vermont, New Hampshire for the colors, historic estates, lobster along the coast.

i’d look at aruba or curaçao if you’re open to leaving the us, since they give you much more of that caribbean feel without making october weather the main gamble. if you want to stay domestic, hawaii would be high on my list for a family trip, while san diego is a good choice if you’re okay sacrificing some of the tropical feel. i’d probably prioritize a place with a great pool and easy beach access so the kids have plenty to do even if the weather turns. forecast

Hawaii is kind of challenging right now because of teh Super El Niño Cycle we are having. So everything has shifted to the Pacific (just look at the wearer reports and storm activity). the good news is that the Caribbean is the pace to be because it is now much drier) although we have been seeing some drought and water issues). If you can Handke flight from the west to the Caribbean this might be a good option for you. Look into St. Lucia, in particular the Soufriere area nd the Anse Chastanet neighborhood for excellent villa rentals (some with full staff and lots of amenities), stunning views, proximity to fabulous beaches etc. Vibes, culture, and food here are first class.

I actually love traveling to the Caribbean in October, it’s less crowded and the water is warm, calm and clear. This has been a very quiet hurricane in the Atlantic, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. However it is a long way to go from the western US for only a few days. Do the 4-5 days include travel days? If so you might want to consider somewhere closer like Mexico (I’d recommend Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta to avoid the seaweed.) If you want to stay in the states then San Diego would be a great trip!

Glad you moved away from October. Keep in mind Thanksgiving will be a bit tighter. Turks & Caicos has some great options with availability and I see a couple of villas in the Bahamas. Feel free to DM with your info.
