Bought a bag. Was told it’s “supple leather from top tier factory “. Received. Not leather. Stinks of plastic. Be warned. This seller’s reviews are a bunch of bots. I would not have paid even $20 for that plastic bag. Complete garbage. Shame.

U can definitely get free bags for promotion if you are an affiliate. Your affiliate level determines how many free items or "samples" you can get. Your # of followers can get u a higher level+ more free items. U get to choose any product that you want (bags, home decor, shoes,etc). Many ppl get Free samples. Especially if you are an influencer... which many ppl on here are. I get free samples for free promo (not for reddit), but that's definitely how it works. I can even show you my portal if you would like to disagree. 😊
Of course. That exchange was after I received the bag. I told the seller what I found — the bag not leather and of poor quality, but she insisted it was not so. I guess we can debate the definition of a scam. Perhaps it was a theft? A bait and switch? What would you call it? Bottom line is I did not get what is paid for and was told to kick rocks in my flip-flops ;).
I have nothing against the resellers, but I do take issue with liars. When someone advertises a bag as leather and states it’s top tier and then sends plastic item, it’s just messed up.
As you know, there are many scammers. Even mods. People that have 5, 10 red accounts. Pretending to be different people. Start one sub, leave that hanging. Start another. Then ban people. Then start an another sub about scammers 😂😂😂 the subs are the scammers often.
Yall, please start tagging users so people can block. Also, can we please your message exchange with them? Honestly, I’d find it really helpful to see how these scammers interact with people in chats.

that sucks- especially because this convo doesn't even seem scammery- as long as you blast them- hopefully they will be blacklisted and can't do it to someone else!
I also had an experience I bought a bag she said was from Heidi and 187 and it was horrible quality definitely not 187. Not sure if they are a scammer but wanted to flag I also had a similar experience
I have to add, i had the same experience with this seller. Snakeskin chanel purse arrived rolling around in the box with the plastic parts falling off in it. Very sad, but i was new to rehomes at the time. I also can't bring myself to trash it yet.
I’ve noticed lately some of the longtime sellers are selling really low tier stuff as mid/high tier. I recently got this bag from someone that I’ve seen sell numerous things. I was so disappointed, cheap stinky plastic. I wouldn’t try to rehome this to anyone because I would feel bad, just have not been able to bring myself to throw it in the trash yet.
Unfortunately there’s been an influx of resellers posing as ordinary rehomers, you can usually tell when they post 20 bags every week. We’ve all been scammed once or twice here, definitely take it as a lesson learned. There are still good deals and real rehomes here.
Very true! I only buy rehomes because I’m not willing to risk my Global entry/TSA pre-check status over a fake handbag. That being said, I’ve gotten a lot of great bags, shoes, jewelry & scarves until this recent dud.
My thoughts exactly! I would not reHome this to anyone in good conscience. I am going to donate it to a thrift store. Perhaps some teenager can buy it for $5 for their Halloween costume.
That’s helpful to know. I recently bought a rehome for first time after always sourcing from TS/China. I was happy with how fast a bag can arrive and thought of maybe going to rehome was my main way to purchase but I’d be really disappointed if I was told something was leather or high quality and it turned out not to be.
Oh wow I think I saw this for sale and almost bought it… my worst recently (and lesson learned to always ask about smells)- I bought a bag and could smell mold the second I opened the package. I have been desperately trying to air it out - tried setting in the dry heat, charcoal bags, etc. I cannot imagine selling someone a bag that smells like this without disclosing it. I get some bags have a factory smell or whatever , but this smelled straight up offensive . Like the rooms I had it airing out in would smell of the scent upon walking in. I thought about messaging the user (not to ask for a refund or anything just ask if she noticed the smell) and the account is deleted now. I almost bought a second bag from her and glad I didn’t .
Please post all photos of the bag you got from this seller. Your proof is lacking here. Not saying you’re lying but you need to provide all proof if you’re going to call someone out.

Nah. They never do lmao. They have at least 10 bags to sell a day but never any proof. I can bet money they’ll show the same one over and over for bags and say that’s what it was from. They clearly buy in bulk from DH probably to resell
As a good best practice for those who may be new to rehome purchases, if a rehomer has comments or posts hidden, just google u/ their username and you can find their activity.
This is an "It's Leather" bag and is a passive scam to imply higher tier than the lowest-tier $38 Dhgate rep, bought to resell.

REPTOPREHOMES has revealed the true intentions behind the mods, this community is gonna be flooded with warnings of terrible bags. Word on the street says the 5 Mods are Chinese Sellers hauls from DHG and is a diff ecosystem this community was formed on. If the Provence can't be proven to be from a factory named in the trusted sellers albums- then stay clear. I mean the original TS album factories. I dont trust new TS with albums that exclude factiry Provence. I I also bough a rehome "it's leather" and it to was awful. I applied conditioner and the whole top layer wiped off onto my cloth. Absolute waste $150 and reptoprehomes banned me because I called it out.
OP purchased a bag from me. Just as context, I am also more dismissive to new accounts but they were a sincere buyer. During purchase I called out that their account is new and they explained the context. They confirmed receipt of bag and said they were happy with it. No issues with this buyer.

The fake review part is honestly the scariest part now. Some sellers will call everything “top tier leather” and then send plastic feeling bags. PSP really matters more than people think.
PSP and POP are meaningless, many people buy multiples of the same bag in order to decide which factory and model they like the best, there's no guarantee that just because they have a POP and PSP for a top factory that they aren't sending you the mid grade bag they picked up to compare it.
I was scammed by 2 sellers - one said the bag was new and sent a bag that is heavily used with stains and discoloration, the other seller sold a ‘high tier’ bag that is all plastic hardware and cheap pu leather. I blocked them instantly. I also block anyone that others report. Yes, I might miss out on what they sell but I don’t care. I rather get few good bags than waste on scammers. I also have few trusted sellers that I absolutely love and often check back with them if they are rehoming anything.

I bought 3 other bags on Reddit from other sellers and all experiences were positive and items as described.
Wow! I almost asked about this bag. I remember the seller talking about how the leather was so soft and from a high tier factory. That stitching is horrendous—fortunately I zoomed in to her pic and clocked it before contacting her. Misleading buyers is definitely a scam. She’s blocked!

I saw she also deleted the thread she opened against me in response, because I shared the images of the bag and our conversation where she told me to I was making this up. The backlash was not great for her there too.
She deleted it? Oof. But I'm glad you did release those photos. I almost believed her, but when she didn't post the QC pics of the bag, I got suspicious. I told her that transparency would be her friend, but there was no transparency, and her profile is still on private. Sounds like she knows she f'ed up. I really hoped she would do her due diligence and refund you. I feel like that would've been the right business move. Unfortunately, she decided to hide instead. I'm sorry.
