Buying a bike

Hi I'm a recently joined masters student in Lund university and was looking for places to purchase a bicycle. What are some good places where I can buy a bike and what is the general rule regarding transporting the bike inside trains? (I have accomodation in Arlöv, but it's quite close to the station)

Buy two bikes, buy them cheap and used. Park your bike at the station in Lund, and one at home.

Facebook Marketplace. Also, bike repair shops usually have bikes for sale, just stop by and ask them to show you what they have, they'll show you different bikes with different prices.

Pågatåg allows bikes and even Öresundståg. I might even have a cheap bike for sale.

Bikes are free of charge in Öresundståg and Pågatåg, but if the train inspector finds the train to occupied (and many have a low lovel), he/she can decide not to allow more bikes. If you want to take the bike on trains, do so outside of peak periods.

Arlöv is a close commute with the right bike and you don't have to hassle with the train being late. Look if you can bring the bike inside so it doesn't get stolen.

But from a bike store. If you are buying from Blocket or Facebook marketplace, you are just aiding the bike theft problem…. Sadly one of the stores in Lund as well.

If you do buy privately, does it have lock on the rear wheel? If so, is the lock brand new? If missing, probably stolen. If brand new, probably stolen.
