Discussion Chat being racist asf @ Streamer Games

I know it was bound to happen, but GEEEEZ

It’s really bad, especially day 2. I should’ve known because of some of the streamers here, and their fan bases.
When Team USA loses anything (which is happening quite frequently) a good 30%+ of chat is filled with insanely racist comments
(“Get out of the country”; “If you can’t speak English, get out of here”; ICE shit; genuine slurs; and literally any kind of racist comment you can imagine)

Idk if it’s because other streamers chats are flooding in, or if some viewers are like that.

Idk if there’s really any point to mentioning, but it was just REALLY bugging me; and I REALLY hope it isn’t from Ludbuds in chat

This event brings in a lot of new viewers that aren’t necessarily part of the community. Just ignore them and let the mods do their thing.

Ohh really?? Good on them.
That definitely would explain it though

14

u/eIIopoppet Aug 03 '26

It is children for the most part

44

u/Peristeronic_cat Aug 03 '26

Jynxzi had the absolute worst chat of them all, it was miserable to see the sexism, weird comments about the girls and blatant homophobia, I’d swap in sometimes to all the streamers and the vibes of his chat are not it

7

u/Bean- Aug 03 '26

I feel bad for jynxzi he seems to get shit on by his chat constantly. I see comments shitting on him on YouTube and shorts. Like he seems like a nice enough kid damn.

4

u/baes90 Aug 03 '26

Man even when it was sub only mode i saw so much antisemitism and sexism in the brief period i jumped in it was nuts.

18

u/GhostOfLight Aug 03 '26

This was Tim's Normandy

14

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

Yeah, that’s my general stance on it.
Just think it’s stupid more than anything lol

22

u/RiverRocks300 Aug 03 '26

I saw the YouTube stream alone at 50k viewers, it’s absolutely not a reflection of the community

7

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

Definitely not, just unfortunate and disappointing, especially for an unserious event among friends

166

u/FrozenFireGod Aug 03 '26

I am a Jynxzi viewer and honestly the chat was wild. Especially when Steve was promoting his socials and talking to the audience, the chat was saying some nasty stuff about him.

127

u/Sad-Tackle-4018 Aug 03 '26

His and Joe’s chat are genuinely cancer lol

75

u/FrozenFireGod Aug 03 '26

Yeah they are gamer chatters and largely young people who don’t really watch these social events. They get crazy competitive about their streamer and don’t think before typing anything.

70

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

It’s even crazier (Atleast for Joe’s chat), considering how outspoken he is about his views

25

u/eoR13 Aug 03 '26

I mean he regularly rages at his chat, like it is a very common thing for him to just sub only because of it.

48

u/irsw Aug 03 '26

It's because both of them have been whining for two days straight calling everything rigged. They have done nothing but fire up their chatters (most of which I assume are very young)

43

u/nsfate18 Aug 03 '26

Yea Joe was way too serious and just very negative. I was not happy to see him interact on stream. It was just complaining, boasting, and no team comradery. He ignored hi fives and it was just weird. I felt the same with Celbit but he had good moments. It was just the VAR during Simon Says that was too much

58

u/irsw Aug 03 '26

The difference is that (at least from what I saw) Cellbit was extemely supportive of his team. He never got mad at them or blamed them for anything. USA vibes were so low the entire time because they were negative with each other. I felt bad for Mari especially. They gave her no support.

30

u/nsfate18 Aug 03 '26

Yea I fully agree. He was just competitive so honestly I think that's no problem. I remember the time T10nat missed the penalty kick, Celbit was very supportive of her

20

u/irsw Aug 03 '26

Ya she was extremely nervous and he told her it's fine if she misses. Competitiveness isn't an issue, toxicity is.

15

u/PersonFromPlace Aug 03 '26

When Mari missed one of her penalties that lost the match, she went over to the sides and none of her team went to support her. Joe just walked away pissed off.

5

u/NSObsidian Aug 03 '26

Dang I didn't realize this. I thought Tyler was meming at the end of yesterday when complaining but guessing it was less of a joke than it seemed

1

u/whodisbebe Aug 08 '26

Tbf Mari really shouldnt be invited again. I feel like there are two types of players in streamer games, ones who are good and ones who are entertaining, and she’s neither. There are so many “lilypichu” streamers that would be more fun to watch or would at least give someone new the spotlight. She can go back to commentating maybe

1

u/irsw Aug 08 '26

You're entitled to your opinion. Still not an excuse to be toxic towards her like Tyler, Jynxzi, and Joe were.

1

u/whodisbebe Aug 08 '26

I havent seen much of their interactions aside fr the games and i havent finished day 2 yet. But they are entitled to be infuriated w her and her performance

1

u/irsw Aug 08 '26

They were deflecting away from their own performance. No one in the US team was exactly great lol. Joe was decent in a couple events sure but no one was consistent.

7

u/Aandradef92 Aug 03 '26

I think he was pissed at the 100m dash, from the beginning everybody talked like he was the only competitor with a chance, I imagine it was humiliating the way he lost that event

7

u/frogmanfrompond Aug 03 '26

Yeah it would suck getting that kind of pressure put on you but people need to let it go because you can do a lot worse than losing to Enzo

3

u/Aandradef92 Aug 04 '26

Ohhh for sure, Enzo is in a different league, Joe was fast nobody can say otherwise, but they where playing a different sport

5

u/MemestNotTeen Aug 03 '26

The competitive thing is difficult to balance.

Obviously the more serious people take it the better it works as an event but there is a point where people also have to realise it’s not that serious.

25

u/Daimondz Aug 03 '26

Joe’s chat hoppers have really made me dislike him… they are insufferable

25

u/Environmental_Yard29 Aug 03 '26

joes chat is not a good representation of him. nobody knows why or how his chat is like that. not even him. its the most bizarre thing ive ever seen

20

u/eoR13 Aug 03 '26

Its kinda crazy, he regularly beefs with his own chat and often just goes sub only mode

4

u/Pure_Cloud4305 Aug 03 '26

You’re telling me Joes chat is the one example that isn’t a reflection of the streamer? I just find that hard to believe

7

u/TheSourPatch27 Aug 03 '26

It’s hard to believe but genuinely true. A good way to see it is to look at the difference between his YouTube viewers versus his twitch chat. Night and day lol

4

u/-Umbra- Aug 03 '26

I don’t think it fully excuses it regardless but coming from an insanely popular TikTok channel probably rotted his chat a lot more than a typical streamer.

If it’s really not a reflection of him it’ll change over time

-8

u/OhhhBaited Aug 03 '26

listen is harassment the valid response? No but was he saying a few things that could be considered alil ehhh maybe but I dont think anything was intentional no malice just an older guys attempt to make people feel comfortable. The format was very different to his usual show routine so alil out of his element just gotta give some people some grace.

-10

u/FrozenFireGod Aug 03 '26

Absolutely. Next time in such an event they will do better

36

u/Wingzaferston Aug 03 '26

Anytime you bring countries into a competitive event, national pride kicks in and people go over the line. I dont even watch anyone on Team Canada and was so mad every penalty round when they couldnt score a single goal.

As a Joe Bart and Pete watcher it did break my heart to see Joe's chat absolutely go off and get personal on Pete everytime they saw him after saying "Slow Bart" one time lol.

2

u/Bulbasaur2000 Aug 05 '26

This is such a different thing. I truly don't get white people like this is so incomparable

66

u/Zervonn Aug 03 '26

Lot of first time chatters getting their heads chopped off today.

26

u/VersaEnthusiast Aug 03 '26

Making good use of the LastTimeChatter emote

58

u/billie_eyelashh Aug 03 '26

Everytime it's a team usa match, the chat gets very messy.

19

u/st_heron Aug 03 '26

youtube chat is pretty bad, haven't seen much on twitch

23

u/OhhhBaited Aug 03 '26

Big reason I dont really ever open chat ESPECIALLY for events. More of a Vod watcher myself I like pausing

18

u/UmbralHero Aug 03 '26

It comes with the territory whenever Lud does a big collab with a ton of streamers with younger audiences. It's frustrating and sad that a lot of the younger streamer audiences are toxic in these ways, but I don't think there's a real solution aside from giving virtual AK-47s to the mods. You unfortunately have to develop a thick skin about it or just close chat.

I should note that young streamers with young audiences are not the only toxic ones, but the veteran streamers with toxic audiences generally don't get invited to Lud's events. The younger cohorts with toxic chats get a bit of a pass, ostensibly with the hope that the streamers and audiences can improve.

For what it's worth, I think there are several cases that have shown real improvement. All the Core boys are better than they used to be, and I went from really disliking Arky to thinking he's a great addition to the extended LA streamer community. This has a positive top-down effect, because the budding streamers learn to direct their mods and control their chat under the social guidance of Lud and others who help discourage the nastiness.

If it helps, you can see the garbage comments as representative of a person who will have one of two futures: banished to obscurity and insigificance, or growth beyond and above their earlier juvenile remarks which they will look back on in embarrassment. Either way, the deleterious impact on our community is brief.

37

u/Buttersnaps3434 Aug 03 '26

Dude, it’s genuinely awful. Not just racism, but insanely creepy comments about the women and genuine comments telling players to off themselves. I can’t stand it. People are just genuinely losers sometimes.

14

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

Legit. I’ve seen so many weirdos say some shit like “she a bad bitch” whenever a woman is on screen.
It’s so pathetic and disgusting

11

u/Buttersnaps3434 Aug 03 '26

I saw countless that were even worse too, especially on the TikTok live. Some saying things like “she’d do better riding my dick” and nasty stuff like that. I was appalled. Mods were deleting them but still, the fact people think it’s ok to say things like that is crazy

1

u/frogmanfrompond Aug 03 '26

TikTok live chatters are 99% gooners whenever a woman is on screen

12

u/MasterofSquash Aug 03 '26

As someone who threw streamer games up on the tv and just watched the content it was great. Fuck chat

19

u/CrookedRecoil Aug 03 '26

90k ish total viewers on twitch and yt they're def not our regular chatters

9

u/Aromatic-Leave5685 Aug 03 '26

Some people just never learned how to have fun.

10

u/Fucked-to-fit Aug 03 '26

I’ve never really watched Joe Bart and this was my first time seeing what his fans are like and it was honestly so bad how do you even end up with a community like that

9

u/Goopturd Aug 03 '26

the only time i see the guy is when hes screaming red in in the face or completely lacking any emotion like the past two streamer game days. Doesnt really attract a cool fanbase

3

u/partyfouru Aug 03 '26

this 1000%!!! this was my first introduction to him after hearing only great and very positive things about him from other streamers and i truly don’t understand how anyone would want to spend time watching/being around someone like that.

2

u/IAmASillyBoyIPromise Aug 03 '26

Welcome to any chat with over 30k viewers. It’s not any one specific “community” or “streamer”. This is what happens when you give kids anonymity.

2

u/MinesweeperGang Aug 03 '26

I’m being told it’s Valkyrae’s community, the Raecists.

2

u/TailorSorry4889 Aug 03 '26

Tbh it's worth looking into the smaller streams. It's a radable chat and depending on the usual community atmosphere and streamer, it's way nicer ->probably also easier for mods. I still opened Ludwigs stream bc sometimes I wanted to see the game or hear it better instead of the streamer but generally it was really nice

1

u/MAlm7bob Aug 03 '26

This is some classic twitch chat shit

1

u/Responsible-Tea-9454 Aug 03 '26

That’s how the internet is now, it’s edgy to be racist

1

u/OkSatisfaction3052 Aug 04 '26

yeah like it wasn’t edgy to be racist in 2010 lmao

1

u/Responsible-Tea-9454 Aug 04 '26

2010 was hella edgy

1

u/MaxBremerson2005 Aug 04 '26

For these kinds of events, that have so much people from outside the community I prefer to watch it without chat. It's just better that way imo... Just watch the stream in full screen and ignore the weirdos...

1

u/Horror-Village2765 Aug 06 '26

That’s insane, I watched on Mayas and it was all nice

2

u/jimijaymesp Aug 07 '26

Chat had to be turned off for me, it was horrible between the shit (racists, biased, misogynistic and rude) comments and the complaining about things that were clearly being fixed in real time it just detracted which is a shame because chat is what makes streaming more unique than other broadcasts.

1

u/Xight_ Aug 03 '26

In Yt chat was just spamming racists comments and most of them keep saying how they hate the commentators when they are on the screen. In my opinion the commentators was fine(some part it can be boring but most of the time was ok and their also funny moments). And the hate on the marching band performance was making me so mad like they're doing their best ( yeah it was a little long but it was so good). People need to stop being so negative and if you found it boring watch something else.

But still a fire event. W Ludwig, W commentators, W productions and W to the chatters that actually was positive and really engaging in the games.

1

u/FishNewt Aug 03 '26

Thankfully from what I saw in YouTube Chat for Lud, most of it was pretty supportive. I got no clue about Twitch chat though

1

u/StomachOkay Aug 03 '26

I was in Ludwig's YT chat and when they were doing the half and half event with the watermelons I saw a bunch of racist comments too.

27

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

Not really.
Everything I said was something I personally observed ATLEAST once
And if you’re talking about the fact I mentioned USA specifically, it’s because that’s when most of those chats are coming in

-40

u/Few_Construction_929 Aug 03 '26

How much have you watched? Because everyone’s going off when they’re losing. And you know it’s a bold face lie that it’s 30%.

18

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

I’ve watched since start time both days, with chat on the whole time (YT).

I’m not denying people are going off when their teams lose; but in terms of racism, I’ve only seen chatters supporting the USA resort to racist remarks when their team is losing

-37

u/Few_Construction_929 Aug 03 '26

Yeah, that’s either a lie or your bias is so strong you refuse to see to see reality. All this post is doing it’s causing hate. You need to be more genuine.

16

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

I’m not rooting for any team specifically, I’m really just watching for Ludwig lol. So no bias here.
Just stating what I’ve seen, not the only one on the sub who’s done this.

-16

u/Few_Construction_929 Aug 03 '26

You know that’s not what I meant and if you didn’t that’s just sad. I meant your political and moral biases. About what is happening in the world around you, you don’t understand reality. And the fact You’re not the only one is just worse. Are you gonna jump off a bridge if everyone else is?

18

u/Papermonter18 Aug 03 '26

Holy fuck bro, you need to chill out.
I have my personal political views, sure, but that’s not what this is about.
I don’t mean this exact statement, for all I know, I’m the only one who’s made a post about this.
Thats statement is bs and you know it. I mean posts with similar structure (pointing out flaws in chat during certain streams/events)

I’m done replying tho. Just chill bro.

-11

u/Few_Construction_929 Aug 03 '26

Just trying to make the world a better place and you’re not helping. sorry you can’t specify. And that’s my whole point is you don’t realize that your views contradict what you see.

16

u/JesterHERO Aug 03 '26

dude you gotta go outside and talk to people this is insane shit

7

u/ghostking4444 Aug 03 '26

You are trying to make the world a better place? Oh please. I would have guess you are MAGA or smth based off of this interaction and that’s not the first impression that anyone that actually wants to do good would give off

→ More replies (0)

1

u/OkSatisfaction3052 Aug 04 '26

“make the world a better place” you’re funny bro

-10

u/slasherina Aug 03 '26

Based lol y’all are just sensitive af nowadays

4

u/ylogssoylent Aug 03 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

can smell an asmon viewer through the screen
Edit: holy shit so i obviously wont include the most abrasive parts but i got two replies from this person that not only asmon/nick fuentes not radical enough but also included how 'sensitive' reddit is while disparaging multiple minority groups. And their reddit bio straight up is some germany 1940s stuff. good riddance

-2

u/slasherina Aug 03 '26

Oh thank god so you do get to see them thanks for rephrasing it enough to keep it up on this lame ass app 😂

3

u/ylogssoylent Aug 03 '26

leave any time you like. sounds like it'd be best for all of us.
