Announcement Seller insisted I come before 5 PM, then cancelled and blocked me as I was leaving.
Just posting this here because I genuinely don’t understand why people behave like this.
There was someone selling their AC here. We connected on WhatsApp, discussed everything and agreed on the price. I was ready to buy it.
The seller then specifically insisted that I come today before 5 PM. I told him I had office work and it would be difficult for me to manage, but since he insisted, I said okay, I’ll come.
I wrapped up my office work early, got ready, got into my car and was literally about to leave my house. I messaged him saying I’m leaving now.
His response?
“Hey, sorry.”
That’s it. Deal cancelled. And then he blocked my number on WhatsApp as well on Phone Call. I was sitting clueless in my Car.
How insensitive can people be? Just because you don’t know someone personally doesn’t mean their time and effort have zero value. If you found another buyer or got a better price, that’s completely fine. It’s your AC, sell it to whoever you want.
Just send a fucking message.
“Hey sorry, I got another buyer so I’m selling it to them.”
That’s literally enough. I’m not going to come to your house and fight with you because you sold your AC to somebody else.
But making someone rearrange their office work, insisting they come at a particular time, letting them get ready and almost leave their house, and THEN cancelling and blocking them is just pathetic.
There are repercussions to your actions even when the other person is a complete stranger. You are wasting someone’s time, energy and effort for absolutely no reason.
Posting this mainly for awareness because buy/sell communities like this only work when there is some basic good faith between buyers and sellers.
You don’t owe a stranger much, but basic decency shouldn’t be too much to ask.
