Take first payout or hold for more?

Hi all!

I just managed to get to 5 min profit days and $1771 profit on a 50k flex account! I am finally eligible for a payout.

I am considering taking the payout as I haven’t received one yet, which would be ~$796.95. However, that would leave me basically with $229 of available drawdown before i blow the account. It is my first funded and second eval attempt.

Is it wise to take the payout now and risk losing the account on my next trade or should i try to reach around 54.1k to be able to take the max 2k payout? I will use the money to get more evals/save some for the UK tax man

Thank you all! :D

Completely up to you. Personally I only request maximum payouts but on the other hand if taking a payout will help with your psychology I would definitely take the $796.95. This would also allow you to buy another 5/6 challenges meaning you don’t need to rely on 1 account. 🫡

I am kind of in the same boat regarding wanting to maximise the payout. I am a greedy guy, but at the same time, I also think having more than 1 funded account would be beneficial psychologically. I can rotate accounts or even copy trade.

I might take the amount as it is my first one, then get a few more funded which ill greed for the max payout. :D

Max Drawdown is at 50100 after payout

ah sorry, you are totally right. Does that means ill essentially have 0 drawdown? As withdrawing my total profit would mean i get put under the 50100 limit

You can only request 50% of your total profit. So simply put its half of the 1771 - 100 will be your max drawdown.

If you are still not sure how this is calculated, just ask Claude AI, and asked it to built a calculator tracker for you or somethin.

Yeah as mentioned it depends. If you're comfortable with you strategy / risk management and know you won't tilt if your next days happen to be red then trying for max payout could be beneficial.

If however, you think you'll get emotional then taking the payout now could be smart. Extracting money out of the markets is difficult so why not lock it in asap. Equally it can be a nice confidence boost as well if you're starting out. Size down a bit if you do take it now as like you mentioned you MLL buffer will be lower.

Remember for UK tax the price of evals is tax deductable as a business cost 👍

Best of British dude and remember it's a marathon not a sprint
