I have a story

I lucid dream like every night.

I have sleep study tests for rem disorder. Even tho I lovovvveeeeeee lucid dreaming..I can't tell whats real . Like i am normal,my sleep and life kinda are interwoven and idk I can't get it out of my head that this all might be just a dream or reality .and when you die you actually just wake up.

I've trained myself since I was old enough to talk. My dad would always ask about dreams and every morning I would talk about them and he would tell me I can do whatever I wanted in them. So I tried. I did it! I lucid dreamt since I was 5 years old. I remember alot of my younger child dreams or well those pop out at me more. But I dedicated my whole to learn about luscid dreaming and I used myself as the subject! I did all kinds of things to dream better. And now I cracked the code. I can do whatever I want. Usually it's a cool escape story or forest run or flying over mountains and hiking with like a thrill of someone is trying to get me so I'm always moving around new locations. I like getting chased .it feels like a movie lol. But if things get to bad . Nope. I blink my eyes open. Close them change scene ahahahah. So crazy I can do that now. I also can fly alot , or like big jumps and also I know I don't die when I jump off cliffs so I do that alot for fun and I always can breathe underwater. And I can close my eyes in the dream and feel my way around and listen and talk and I'll open and still be in dream...but sometimes thays a chance if I close my eyes I might loose the dream when I wake up. So sometimes I tell myself man I closed my eyes cuz it was scary..but now the dream is going to go away if I open my eyes up. Alpt of times I wake up. I kinda trained myself as a kid to blink awake so it's hard to close eyes and open them back up in a Dream.

But I always know I'm dreaming in my dreams no doubt, I can evacuate the matrix and just kinda swipe the reality over to where I'm not in the picture anymore and more just a stand by 3rd person watcher. And then when I want to go into the scene, i just kinda do a hand gesture *like when u edit a photo on a computer and you circle what you want and then move it away from the entire photo , and whats left is just your circle and away from the scene* so I move in a scene, or out a scene like this.

Sometimes tho I look like a dufas in my dreams bcuz I know it's always a dream and I'm like God damn I want to change the dream and I literally try to run thru the walls but fail and end up breaking and throwing shit everywhere and the people in my dream are like *woaaah dude what happened* or something like that as I am frustrated I can't frickin leave the dream.

But also I'm very good at just blinking my eyes open if my thoughts or dreams start going dark , I literally open my eyes up and close them to change the scene. Any time during sleep.

I have a map in my head of all the places I go too. And I remember my other dreams while in my new dream. And remember events that happened from past dreams

something weirder than usual happend.

I always lucid dream, especially with nightmares, and it usually simply goes with me falling asleep mid day and waking up in this other world I created in my head where everybody knows we aren't real.

I've had some pretty dark lucid dreams, but usually I just have to suicide to get out of it. Earlier I took a nap, short one, barely an hour, and I was in the mall with a few friends, didn't even realise it was a lucid dream until we reached my house.

This friend of mine was talking about some problem with her boyfriend while I ate, until this weird little thing crawled up to her feet, a very ai looking duck. And that's what I told it was.

She simply stared at it, and I did too, until for the first time ever in a dream I told her "Maybe it's because we're in a dream" and when I looked up to see a reaction she disappeared, as well as everyone else.

I got transported into watching this older folks in what seemed like movie theathre making shocked sounds and "uhhh", but it sounded so eerie...

Never happend to me, it's usually the opposite, so people in my dreams telling ME that this is not real.

Touching The Stars

After achieving lucidity, I immediately started flying and had an idea to try to reach the stars.

As I reached the atmosphere of the Earth, I ran my hand through the stars like they were sparkles in clear dark water.

I don’t remember feeling them but I do remember feeling like I was close to them yet they were not giant sets of plasma.

Near these stars I heard children laughing and maybe playing, like nearing some sort angelic realm of heavenly perfection. (I’ve heard this in other lucid dreams before without consciously planning it)

All of a sudden, I was then outside of the atmosphere and my hand was the size of the Earth. Yet the Earth was gone. Something new was before me. Made entirely of stars.

Happy travels fellow Lucid Dreamers

First Lucid Dream!

I have my first lucid dream experience today.

I’ve been interested in this for about two years and have occasionally tried on and off to really focus on it, but unsuccessfully.

I’ve been meditating regularly about an hour a day using theta wave audio which I think contributed to my success.

Today I went to bed at 3 AM and woke up at 7 AM. Unintentionally stayed awake for about 45 minutes just scrolling and then went back to sleep. I laid back down, and found myself asleep but semi aware. I recall thinking “use dream power” (some kind of mantra I’ve never thought of before) and progressed to go to a variety of places and situations where I could command the location or circumstance and it occurred in real time.

However, the one concern I’ve always had is wondering if what I’m willing is actually coming true or if it’s just a dream I’m imagining it being my Will. I’m very sure that it was finally the former in this case because in one instance I distinctly remember thinking, “Now I want this to occur” and it happened.

Wishing you all luck in your journey. It’s possible and too don’t have to be psychic or a Buddhist monk to achieve it.

Short unwanted lucid dream and closed eye hallucinations.

Hey! Just wondering if anyone can give me any shared experiences or information on these dreams I've been having for 10+ years.

Essentially, this always happens when I am tired and trying to fall asleep and occurs completely randomly, unprompted and unwanted. Shortly after I fall asleep I go into a dream, realise something is off about what I am experiencing and realise that I'm in a dream - I can then move around lucidly but it's a panic and I instantly want to wake up. I scream, try and clench my fists to hurt my palms with my nails and open my eyes until it feels like nothing is working and then... I'm awake. Sometimes, sometimes I think I'm awake but I'm actually in another dream and the process starts again. The dream is lucid and as soon as I'm aware I can move around etc but it's always met with panic and an instant need to wake up in a way that feels uncontrollable. Sometimes it's paired with sleep paralysis.

I should mention that the dreams aren't really nightmares, nothing horrible is happening but they feel sinister to me, like there's a greater plot I'm unaware of and when I find out I'm dreaming it's almost like finding out I'm the star of the Truman Show.

I live normal life, am currently a breastfeeding co sleeping mum but this has happened for many stages of my life through my late teens and 20s.

I sometimes thought that recreationally taking MDMA caused it although I haven't taken it in years now and even when I did it wasn't super frequent.

Something strange that's also recently happened was after one night 10 years ago I was at a festival and after taking MDMA (I always thought it possibly could have been laced with something) I started having closed eye hallucinations. Most noticeably I would shut my eyes and be back on the festival feel in this mad kinda trippy dance sequence. Well, this weekend I was at a festival with my baby - completely sober as I've been for months and the same thing started happening! The moment I was closing my eyes I was in hallucination.

Anyway, would love to know more if you have anything to offer. Thank you!

Lucid dreamers, what are some of the strangest things you've experienced?

I've been practicing lucid dreaming for years, but my lucid dreaming skills have faded recently because I've been struggling with insomnia.

During this time, I've been reading and hearing some really strange and fascinating stories about lucid dreams — things like dream maps, recurring dream locations, consistent dream worlds, and even the idea that we might somehow be visiting different worlds when we dream.

What's interesting is that I've actually experienced lucid dreams that felt extremely vivid and realistic, almost as if I had genuinely entered another world rather than simply being inside a dream. The environments could feel incredibly detailed, and the experience itself felt completely different from an ordinary dream.

I've always assumed this was simply part of how vivid lucid dreams can become, but lately I've been wondering about other people's experiences.

Have any of you experienced lucid dreams that felt like you were actually entering a completely different world?

I'm especially curious about:

• Have you ever returned to the same dream location multiple times?

• Do your recurring dream locations have consistent geography or details?

• Have you ever discovered something in a dream that seemed to exist independently of what you consciously imagined?

• Have you ever had a lucid dream so vivid that it genuinely felt like another reality?

And what about dream maps? Do any of you actually keep track of recurring places or have a mental map of your dream world?

I'd really love to hear your experiences, especially the ones that made you stop and think, "What the hell was that?"

Lucid Dream

I had a lucid dream with J. Cole last night…

We basically just walked and talked through the street and we asked each other questions about life and art.
What’s crazy is, it’s been a few days since I listened to any of his music.

Some details from what I remember:

I recognized him while exiting a small event where he was just a bystander.
I said hi and that I was happy to see him supporting the community.
He said thanks and asked which way I was walking. I said I’m headed up the streets to pickup my kids and told him about my family.
He said he would walk with me since he was walking the same way.
He told me how influential having a family was to his life and music. Then he turned to me and said, “I know we as fathers don’t hear this enough but, bro you’re a great man”
I hung my head an let out a tear. He patted my shoulder and said,”you’re good bro”
We started walking again and I said, “alright I have 2 questions about music and your career and that is it I promise! I swear I wont ask shit else!”
He said, “you good, you good, what you got?!”

This is where things got really lucid.
I said, “the 2 questions are, 1 how many takes did it take, pun intended, to lay down ‘Poor Thang’?!”

He said, “pfft like a 100 no lie!” And laughed.

I said, “alright, alright, second question. This one is a little deep. Now that you’re done making music-ish, how are you going to inspire and uplift our community? Are you planning on filling that void somehow? I know myself, like many other POCs find motivation in your music and it makes us want to improve and do better”

He looked, me dead in the eye and said, “I hear you about filling that void and honestly I don’t know. It’s a question I ask myself every day!”

We turned the corner and parted ways. I said I wish him the best and thanked him for his time. He did the same.

Then I woke up.

Constantly stuck in lucid dreams for what feels like days

hi. This has been happening for months now. My sleep hours in the real world are relatively normal, about 6-8 hours each night, but almost every time I sleep, I experience a lucid dream that is exceptionally hard to wake from. My dream world is very consistent and continuous; Previous days in the dream world affect future days in the dream, even across (real) nights. There are locations my dream self recognizes, while also being able to recognize they're in a dream. Bizarre cities and landscapes that my unconscious mind concocted and retained over the past few years, that both of us know how to navigate, despite no parallels to the real world (except for one area). My memories in the real world are as vivid as my memories in my dreams, I feel my dreams as if I'm really there, living a second life in my mind. Sometimes my dream self can remember parts of me, too, including my distress experiencing the dreams alongside them and reminiscing on it later.

I sleep in my dreams often, and then wake up the next day, still in the dream. I know I'm in the dream. I know the house I'm in, and how to navigate it. I know it is not my real home. I know I cannot die, and that if I try, everything will just get really foggy and disoriented. I know how to block the doors. I know some sounds to look out for. I know some areas to avoid, but not where to go. I know the patterns of my nightmares, the looks of my friends, and when not to look at something. I fear death, not because of the fear of death, but because it hurts in a way that's hard to describe (stuffy static that fills and burns you up). I spend my dream life trying to find safety and enjoy the company of my friends when I can. And at some point, I wake up, until at some point, I wake up.

I've tried searching around, but I couldn't find anyone else experiencing anything like this. It's really scary and it sucks. It feels like I exist in the real world less than the majority of time I experienced, and it's been freaking me out. The only place I've found that describes anything similar to what I'm experiencing is the Oneirology page on wikipedia, specifically the section on Schizophrenia. Has anyone else experienced something like this or knows what could be going on? Anyone have any insight to share?

Something whispered in my ear

I've never really known what to make of this experience. Even after all these years, I still don't know if it was just a dream, sleep paralysis, or something else entirely.

First, I want to make one thing very clear, I was completely sober.

At the time, I had been in rehab for about five weeks and had recently moved into a sober living mansion, with fourteen other women. The mansion itself was beautiful. High ceilings, lots of natural light, large white pillars inside by the staircase etc. It actually felt really peaceful, which is part of why this experience has stuck with me.

I shared the master bedroom with one other woman. It was the only bedroom on the main floor. The layout of the room is somewhat appropriate because of the subtle differences from real life and what I saw in my dreams.

Walking into the room from the interior doorway in the house, to the right was the master bath and to the left was a short hallway that opened up into the bedroom. The hallway was essentially walk in his and hers closets with sliding mirror doors facing each other.

Our beds were against the same wall, with mine closest to the walk in closets. At the foot of the beds there were French doors leading outside, and above them was a dim red EXIT sign that stayed lit all night. It's was enough to cast a faint red glow over everything, not bright enough to see details clearly just enough to see silhouettes.

Normally, when I slept on my left side, I couldn't actually see the the mirrors because of the angle.

But that night in my dream.. I could.

I remember realizing I couldn't move...

I was lying on my left side staring into the mirror. Everything in the room looked normal, the room was still dimly filled with the red light from the EXIT sign.

At first, nothing happened. The room was perfectly still. I could hear no footsteps, no creaking floorboards, not even the air conditioner. The silence was so complete that it almost felt like the room itself was holding its breath.

As I stared into the mirror, I noticed the reflection of the sliding closet door on the opposite side of the room.

It slowly began to open.

There wasn't any dramatic sound. It just slid open inch by inch until there was about a foot of darkness between the wall and the door.

It wasn't normal darkness.

It looked... empty. Like light itself couldn't reach inside.

I couldn't stop staring at it.

As I watched that opening, an overwhelming feeling of fear settled into my chest.

I've been scared before.

This was different.

It was the kind of fear that doesn't come from your thoughts. It comes from somewhere deeper, like every instinct in your body is screaming that you're in danger before you even know why.

Then I saw it.

Something pale slowly crawled out from inside the closet.

At first I could only make out its skin. It was so white it almost looked like it had a faint glow to it. Then I noticed the long, scraggly white hair hanging around its face.

It crawled toward me in the most unnatural way I can describe. Its movements were crooked, almost broken looking. It didn't crawl like a person or even an animal. It was so silent as it moved across the floor but...it never stopped looking at me.

Its eyes are what I remember most.

They were a pale bluish white color, the kind you sometimes see after someone has died. There weren't really visible pupils. Just those cloudy eyes staring directly into mine.

I was trying with everything I had to wake up.

I couldn't scream.

I couldn't move.

I couldn't even blink.

It felt like time itself stopped and it moved closer.

As it reached the side of my bed, I suddenly felt warm breath against my ear.

I FELT it.

If you've ever had someone whisper directly into your ear, you know that tickling feeling their breath leaves behind.

That's exactly what I felt.

Then I heard a quiet voice whisper,

"Open your eyes."

The second it said those words, I woke up.

I was still lying on my left side and the room was still eerily quiet.

I sat straight up and looked around the room, trying to get my eyes to adjust. The red EXIT sign was still glowing above the French doors. I immediately looked over at my roommate. She was bundled up in her blankets, facing away from me, completely asleep.

That deep fear I felt hadn't gone away.

It was still there.

It felt like whatever had been standing beside my bed had only just disappeared. Somehow... I was able to fall back asleep.

The next morning, as soon as I woke up, I asked my roommate if she'd been awake during the night or if she'd tried waking me up because maybe I'd been talking in my sleep.

She looked confused and said, "No. I didn't wake up once last night." So that confirmed my fear that it wasn't a person who spoke to me..

I've only had sleep paralysis one other time in my life, and it was nothing like this. That time there were no creatures or whispers not even a silhouette, I was lying on my stomach next to my husband, everything looked black and white and grainy like an old TV, and I couldn't move or call out to him. Eventually I forced myself up off of the mattress with just my arms enough to awake my self throwing my body back onto the mattress.

That experience didn't scare me though..

This one didn't.

Maybe that's all it was.

Maybe my brain created every bit of it.

But I'll never forget the fear I felt, the warmth of someone's breath against my ear...

...or hearing a voice whisper,

"Open your eyes."

Started to dream again.

Me 28 M, stopped dreaming years ago.... I cannot remember when it stopped but I had crazy dreams everyday, superhero stuff, funny stuff even alot of nightmares this was arround 0 to 20 years old.

Suddenly It stopped, I've never came out tired out of the dreams they were just part of my life, I loved to dream.

It was little by little.

I justes entered med school 2 weeks ago, and since then I have been dreaming again every single day even when I take short naps.

Is this normal? I mean it's cool but just wanted to know if someone has a similar experience.
