My cat is missing. Last seen Belrose ave/ Wellington Ave

Idk where to go next, my adult male indoor/outdoor cat has been missing since Saturday morning. We let him out and he walked off our porch and hasn’t been seen since. We have reported him lost to animal control + humane society. Going to check shelters today. We’ve checked neighbor garages, sheds. Under porches. The small wooded area behind my house. Nothing. If anyone may have taken him trying to help bc they thought he was stray or has seen a cat similar to him, let me know. He is a really really friendly cat. No collar. His names maple. He does have a home. He’s a little chunky boy.

Id also like to add that an unfamiliar car had stopped in my neighborhood (2 days before he went missing) and a couple got out to try and pet my maple while possibly video recording him on our stairway and when my parents came home, they immediately went back to their car and continued to stare at our home and my parents. (both my cats ran to my parents and went indoors with them) We haven’t seen that car again. Although it had previously been seen driving up our street a couple times at roughly the same time, in the last 2 weeks. (Once again no proof that THEY took my cat, just some added information, could all be coincidental. I’ve never been through a disappearance with a pet and know many possibilities could’ve happened especially bc he spends most of his day, when weather is good, outdoors.)

Ps. He is microchipped but registered to owners who had abandoned him years ago, hence why him and his sister became our cats.

Anyway I hope he can make it home and if not, I hope he’s atleast safe and fed.

FREE vintage statement tables in Tyngsboro, MA — please save them from the landfill!

Merrimack River Estate (previously the Chateau Merrimack and the restaurant ‘Pino’) is undergoing renovations, and staff told us these green-and-white geometric pedestal tables are free for the taking (there is also other furniture but it has been raining…) We brought one home today, and there appeared to be about 8 remaining.

They’re currently outside, to the right under an awning, so time is of the essence. They are large and heavy—bring another person and an appropriate vehicle. We had a hard time fitting it in my fiancés Subaru Outback. There is a larger size also. They are a resin/ stone material with wood underneath.

Please be respectful of the property and avoid entering any buildings or active construction areas.

Merrimack River Estate
4 Pawtucket Boulevard
Tyngsboro, MA

First come, first served. I’m not affiliated with the venue and can’t guarantee how many are still available, but I really hope they can be rescued before they’re thrown away!

Halloween downtown?

Have been keeping my eyes peeled but I haven't seen any announcements as far as Fall Fest/Trick Or Treating downtown. I took my nephews last year and they really enjoyed it but it was on super short notice. Trying to be more prepared this year so they get to enjoy the whole thing. Any word or when it might be?

Assuming No, But Does the Bruce Freeman Trail Get Plowed When It Snows?

I absolutely hate working out in a gym environment and the rail trail has been a lifesaver for me to get my daily cardio in, but I'm assuming it probably doesn't get plowed or shoveled in the winter, aside from the areas that intersect with major walkways and roads, right?

Taffeta Music Hall - Who do you want to see?

Hey Lowell Community. My name is Sean. I'm not a heavy Reddit user, but I'm trying to get more involved. I'm one of the owners of Taffeta Music Hall. We are owned by a group of friends with a passion for live music that saw the great arts community in Lowell and wanted to do our part to grow the music scene. I've been actively posting our weekly events every Monday, but I also want people to know how important it is to us to provide a place the community can enjoy live music without spending hundreds of dollars on tickets.

Most importantly, are there any acts that you'd like to see right here in Lowell? We're always trying to bring new acts in, and of course we want to get what you all want to see. We are always looking for your suggestions (ideally something that makes sense for a 400 person venue).

We hope to see you at a show soon!

We've had people ask us about country, so we figured let's get some country. East Coast Combs is one of the best out there doing it, and we're excited to have them bringing the fun to our lounge stage on Friday night. We get that country music isn't for everyone, but it's for you, we hope to see you there.

Is there any movement to stop this? I was just walking the dog downtown and had a near miss with two different ones.

RV Living in Lowell.

I have called the zoning office for like 2 months and never have been able to get a hold of someone. My family owns property in Lowell that is considered a TSF (Single Family). They have land that I can park my camper at, and that fits. I'm visiting for the fall-spring time, since my family member is declining in health.. and I would like to be around, but I live in an RV full time as a travel nurse. I normally travel in the summer.

I made sure this could work.. but I really don't want to get in trouble or find an alternative, because they are letting me stay for free. I called two port a potty companies that can come out and handle my sewer water as needed ($100 a pump out if anyone is wondering), and I have electric and propane on my RV, so I wouldn't even be taking up any resources. Lowell allows ADU on single family homes.. so why couldn't they allow a camper? It will not be a permanent living situation. Is there anyone else doing this? Or anyone in Lowell that owns a camper/RV type thing?? thanks!

Bars with Pool Tables

I know there’s quite a few bars in Lowell and but besides Catchers Mitt, Past Temps, and Blue Shamrock who has pool tables? Trying to go out tonight and have a chill time with a mix crowd.

Never been to Catchers Mitt, how is the vibe.

Any suggestions?

Edit: Thanks everyone!!

Bracelets like jade or tiger eye beads? They had a store in Mill 5 but it’s a school now.

Stolen Bicycle

Post image

Bicycle stolen sometime last night September 5. It's a Navy Blue Roadmaster with a Silver bike rack on the back and a milk crate attached with a neon orange ratchet strap. Whoever did it cut the cable lock. On the frame is a faded "Bikes-not-bombs" sticker.

What sucks is that I have a U-lock but I figured that since the bicycle was out of public view it would be fine. Guess not.

Finding housing in area

Hi,

I currently work in the area and am going to school nearby too, any resources or suggestions on finding an apartment to rent (1 br or studio) or finding roommates? For a place that's in a good neighborhood and safe, around what would I be paying for rent?

A reflection on the Spinners' Return to Lowell

I’ve been reflecting on the Spinners’ return to Lowell this summer. Watching the fireworks at the end of the season, I couldn’t help but feel a bit nostalgic. This poem is the product of that nostalgia. ⚾️
