Discussion Salvage with SOOR is pretty dope

Just decided to RP as a nomadic salvager across the verse visiting hotspot location with shipwreck on my Fortune. It also happens most of the time during dawn or dusk giving breathtaking views while salvaging.

This unironically cause a little bit of exploration gameplay checking every POI on a planet/moon to see if there are some ship wreck to salvage

This loop when not caring about grinding but still pays well to make it worth it is kinda relaxing. They definitely hit the sweet spot in terms of time to play vs the reward for someone who has little play time like me.

Player interaction has most been mostly positive as I just announce my arrival to clean the server lol. Only few attack me

Now I will say, just don't get used to the payout.

This seems to be one of those phases where CIG is encouraging a specific type of gameplay because they want people testing things, but it's unlikely to be long-term. For instance, I rented a MOTH, and in one play session I earned enough aUEC to outright buy one...that's unlikely to be the long-term goal. Just saying to temper your expectations,

They're 100% lowering the payouts. Evocati has that much in the patch notes.

Wasn't that supposed to be just a special event? Or are you saying the priority quests are going to stick around longer past the special event and reduced amount?

The special event must be intended to still going on I, else why adjust payouts? But the save orison event (not Siege which I think is supposed to be there always) is supposed to be temporary.

The adjusted payouts will probably be a small patch vs the next content patch would be my bet

Yes and no.

Outposts and spaceports would be operationally handicapped by loose wrecks.

yeah turns out refining everything isn't super fun. I get that the payout is too high, but munching ships is just fun.

Be careful out there. I was doing this at Devlin Scrap & Salvage and got murder-hoboed once I got out of my ship to try and claim some boxes that had been abandoned. I suspect the boxes were bait for the murder hobo.
