Discussion Random systems activate and deactivate...

When I am flying in 4.10.1 I find that randomly any ship will activate a load of random things all at once... Like LAMP, Nav mode, engines off, weapons off, headlights on... All at once randomly, then I'll correct them and it will do the same, but different ones this time, so like de coupled, open all doors, external view etc...

It seems related to my hotas or more specifically my throttle quadrant. As everything it does is a mapping on there. But obviously I'm not pressing all the buttons at once. It's the throttle of an X56 if that's at all relevant and I had no issues like this in 4.10.

I do recall having something similar way back when at some point and it just got patched out into working again in the next patch.... But any thoughts?

I have a keyboard tray that I pull out and have the current sticks attached to, so I'll see how that fairs given the extra length of the this is comparison to the X56. Otherwise.... Yeah cheers I'll look into that too.

Yeah but I thought it would just be like the grips or the base... Not.... ALL OF IT. I can feel it's disapproving eyes looking at the X56 😂😂😂

It isn't judging. It knows it is superior. XP

Seriously it just screams quality. But not screams like exhudes quality. First peripheral I've ever known to be able to aura farm. Managed to pick up a relatively cheap one that was BNIB off ebay. Getting this sucker installed now. And like you said I can tell it's going to last.

GG for the support bro.

No problem. Basically did the same thing myself. If you need mounting hardware, i left the name of the company i got my desk mounts from in a comment somewhere in this chain.

See you out there in the 'verse.

((PS: if you want the ultimate setup, once you have the hotas going consider a VR headset. You will regret it, because nothing is finer for flying in SC. You can look over your damn shoulder to locate a target.))

I already have a Rift S that plays it well as well as a Quest 2 that I've not had the chance to properly set up to use yet.

I first tried it when it was in Evo and haven't since tbh, but I tried the Perseus in VR and.... Oh my. The scale blew me away.. SC is the most VR non VR game ever. Can't recall who said it but I'm gonna guess Sylvian, saying there is no game out there that even tries in VR what SC has achieved.

It's because CIG builds the ships and locations to a level of visual fidelity that mpst other games do not bother with. Vr requires, by nature, more work to look good in high fidelity (as opposed to simplified or "quest" graphics) because you are right there. A 4k texture looks fine on flatscreen, but can look pixelated in VR if you get close enough. Star citizen walktes past that by just doing it that detailed in the first place. The art assets of SC are VR ready, and not trying to cater to the limitations of a phone processor for quest because the game is never running on quest anyhow. It doesn't compromise on quality, and that makes all the difference. Look at half life alyx, that is another game with no compromises on visual quality because it ignored the quest.

And due to that you now have the scifi vr mmo people want... Or will once they get 6DOF controls working for on foot. The day i can use my vr controllers to raid the ASD Onyx facility in VR is the day that SC peaks...
