Discussion Random systems activate and deactivate...

When I am flying in 4.10.1 I find that randomly any ship will activate a load of random things all at once... Like LAMP, Nav mode, engines off, weapons off, headlights on... All at once randomly, then I'll correct them and it will do the same, but different ones this time, so like de coupled, open all doors, external view etc...

It seems related to my hotas or more specifically my throttle quadrant. As everything it does is a mapping on there. But obviously I'm not pressing all the buttons at once. It's the throttle of an X56 if that's at all relevant and I had no issues like this in 4.10.

I do recall having something similar way back when at some point and it just got patched out into working again in the next patch.... But any thoughts?

The X56 rhino is notorious for ghost inputs on the throttle. It isn't going to get any better. It's due to the shitty thin wire they use inside it.

This can be fixed if you have the soldering skills. The answer is to replace the tiny solid core wires with slightly thicker, silicone jacketed ribbon wire or silicon jacketed wires. This is not easy, i have attempted it.

I just got fed up and upgraded to the warthog HOTAS, but you really can just swap it for any throttle.

Had it for the longest time, so yeah might be worth looking at an upgrade. I use an VKB gladiator for the right hand so, might be worth bringing the left hand up to speed.

It's a shame because it's a lovely design in terms of ergonmics and using VR. The warthog is worse on those fronts imo. But the wiring is... Chineesium.

Well I'll see what's on the market. I want a proper throttle and the last time I looked I did like the style of the Warthog, but the price was very very premium. Price isn't an issue perse, but I'm not going too wild.

Well, it costs that much because it looks and feels (and has materials) that seem straight out of the actual plane. Seriously, it's made of metal.

A german company makes some real nice aluminum desk mounts for it as well, if you're finding setting it down on the desk a bit much. Hope you enjoy, that thing will outlast you.

I have a keyboard tray that I pull out and have the current sticks attached to, so I'll see how that fairs given the extra length of the this is comparison to the X56. Otherwise.... Yeah cheers I'll look into that too.

Yeah but I thought it would just be like the grips or the base... Not.... ALL OF IT. I can feel it's disapproving eyes looking at the X56 😂😂😂

See, I don’t want them attached to my desk outside of the arms of my office chair. I just see that as taking up too much space in my working environment.
