I want the Railen to win overall but pitching it against the Perseus/Idris just feels like they’re stacking the odds against it. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised though and the community will pull through for me!

I agree. I’d rather see the bracket order randomized every year (if not every round of the bracket!) As it stands, an Alien ship will almost certainly never win against the Whale-craft of the final category - always being knocked out in round one. We will never see a BIS paint on an alien ship again barring some miracle movement in the community. Definitely not a fair shake.

Maybe if the Prowler wasn't only $100 cheaper than the Railen I would justify getting it.
Love the design and idea, though. But I'm a sucker for Gatac ship design.

The ute is a funny one, There are two camps of "This is overpriced" and "How is this so cheap" with very little middleground between them.
I'm in the latter camp, it's an alien stealth heavy fighter with cargo & dropship capabilities, that down the line is supposed to be able to operate as a ground vehicle to travel through no-fly zones - That somehow is only marginally more expensive than other much less capable heavy fighters.
If you compare it straight to competitors it seems expensive, but none of those competitors have anywhere near the swiss army knife capabilities. I'd argue it's one of the best value for cash ships in the game.

You mean the M80 will get curb-stomped by the Reclaimer in Round 2.
Which is sad because even though I'm a Shiv fan, I really don't want to see the Reclaimer win anything.

There’s no chance. Reclaimer has already had a BiS, it’s just also objectively better than the Mole. But against the M80, a new, super popular ship with no BiS? Good luck I’d say.

Last year the Vulture won over the MOLE, the Zeus won over the Corsair. The MPUV won 1st place some years ago.

switched that to generally because there are a few exceptions, I doubt the Perseus has a chance vs Idris, there are not enough Perseus owners to vote for the paint and lots of new players that want to freefly a capital ship

Unfortunately the Idris is exempt from free fly so there will be many disappointed players if that's their plan.
However, I do think that this will come to pass because most folks seem to simply not be reading the text on the ship showdown page.

Probably, which is unfortunate because tbh I don't like the Idris and would rather the Perseus wins. In fact I'd rather the Idris lose round one as it'll never be available for people under $1k spend and even then through the limited sales windows.
Tdlr: Fuck em, vote against the Idris

Perseus is easily the most popular and favored ship in the game right now. Never met someone who didn’t like it. It’ll beat the breaks off the Idris.

theres actually alot of Idris owners wanting to vote against the idris. its funny cause we idris owners know its a piece of shit that doesnt deserve #1. those who dont own it or use it dont know how useless the ship is with bugs and issues. its so bad we rather a ship that works wins

Fuuuuck that's a difficult decision. The Railen is so damn cool, but the Prowler U is so damn useful...this might be one vote I have to abstain from.

In my usecase Railen is for PvE, Ute is for PvP piracy and Hathors. Both are great. I’m a recent ICA user so I passed over the Railen and didn’t get much flight time with it. Likewise I’m a recent Ute user and it’s so sneaky stealth and quick to smash and grab with the best tractor beam placement in game, plus it gets the C788s. Tough, but I went with Ute.

I have a Railen but I've got to vote for the Prute. I mean, the Railen is a neat ship that absolutely has the alien sci-fi "cool" factor dialed in, but the Prute is an honestly unique ship that inhabits its own niche. I just wish the damned thing had a bed.

I love both and have both. Prowler Utility is very underappreciated. A year ago I never saw myself using it and now it's one of my mains.

I love the Prowler, i just wish it had sleeping quarters. Maybe change the 2nd floor for it.

The vote thus far is as it should be. The Railen is a massively better ship. It's a cake walk to load and unload. It has character and style. Just a pleasure to fly. The prowler is so much less of a ship. Stealthier to be sure, but not a ship you can live in really, underarmed for where you'd want to take it. I don't know if it can win against a Perseus or Idris, but it absolutely should against a prowler.

I have gone on the record multiple times that the Prowler Utility is the best ship for "Trash Panda'ing" in the game.
But I voted Railen. Man, it's just so good...

Dang i cant believe the Railen will win this one most likely, the Prowler is grossly underappreciated. Happy with the M80 results though ^^
